Let it be an anime or any fictional story, these stories have one thing in common. It is the cliche of telling the Second Major Character or Second Protoganist’s way in the story. Many second major characters are on their way to destroying things. They have been driven with a motive to do bad things. Whether it is childhood trauma, betrayal, avenging their loved ones, or many other aspects. In order to achieve the said goal, they do bad things along the way. Uchiha Sasuke from the Naruto franchise is no exception to this. In fact, he would be on the very top of the list. So in today’s post, we will see the top 10 worst things Uchiha Sasuke has done in order to achieve his goals.
Some people justify the things that these characters have done. For instance, the worst thing in my opinion a character has done is an all-time favorite, Eren Yeager. For his freedom (Spoiler Alert!), he has stomped over eighty percent of the earth’s population. Killing the people who did not even know what they were getting killed for. And there are people who are justifying the thing he has done. It is a human concept that is beyond understanding. Uchiha Sasuke has also done terrible things.
Whether his actions are justified or not, you can be the judge of that. Before we look into the worst things Uchiha Sasuke has done, let’s see who Uchiha Sasuke is, what his character is about, and what drives him to do these worst things.
Origin of the Character
Sasuke Uchiha is a fictional character from the Naruto manga and anime series. Masashi Kishimoto is the author and illustrator of the Japanese comic series Naruto. It follows the narrative of Naruto Uzumaki, a teenage ninja who wants fame from his peers and aspires to become the Hokage or village leader. The tale is divided into two sections, the first set in Naruto’s pre-adolescence and the second in his teenage. From 1999 to 2014, Naruto was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and published in tankobon (book) form in 72 volumes.
Pierrot and Aniplex developed an anime television series based on the manga, which aired 220 episodes in Japan from 2002 to 2007. Naruto: Shippuden, a successor to the original series, started in Japan in 2007 and ran for 500 episodes until ending in 2017. Naruto is the fourth best-selling manga series in history, with 250 million copies in 47 countries and territories, including 153 million copies in Japan alone and the remaining 97 million copies abroad. It has gone on to become one of Viz Media’s best-selling manga series.
Who is Uchiha Sasuke?
Sasuke Uchiha is one of Konohagakure’s few remaining Uchiha clan members. After his elder brother, Itachi massacred his clan, Sasuke made it his life’s purpose to avenge them by assassinating Itachi. When he becomes a ninja, he joins Team 7 and begins honing his talents via competition with his competitor and closest friend, Naruto Uzumaki. Dissatisfied with his development, he defected from Konoha in order to get the power necessary to take his retribution. Years of pursuing retribution and subsequent acts become increasingly demanding, illogical, and isolate him from others, causing him to be labeled as an international criminal.
After discovering the truth about his brother’s sacrifice, he subsequently played a key role in bringing the Fourth Shinobi World to an end. After being blissfully redeemed by Naruto, Sasuke resolves to return to Konoha Village. And dedicate his life to assisting in the protection of the village and its citizens, earning the title of “Supporting Kage” or “Shadow Ninja.”
What made him do bad things?
Just like many other famous characters, his motivation to gain more power came along with lots of things he has done wrong. Up until half of the series, he was driven by a motivation of revenge. He wanted to kill his brother for the genocide of his clan. After learning the intentions behind Itachi’s mass murder, he got the motivation to destroy Konoha. Revenge and Power drove Sasuke to do bad things in the course of his character. So let’s see…
The top 10 worst things Sasuke did on his way to get revenge and power.
1) Went rouge and broke a competitor’s arms
This is one of the first times we see him do anything horrible in the Naruto series. During the chunin exam, Sasuke broke Zaku, the ninja of the sound village’s arms. Chunin tests contain rules and regulations that prohibit competitors from injuring one another. He breached the rules and attempted to murder Zaku with malicious intent.
However, this is the first time Sasuke has been overcome by the curse power. After finding that Zaku had harmed Sakura, he snapped Zaku’s arms in half. It was the first time we saw Sasuke gain the power he craved, and it is frightening that he is turning evil as a result of it.
2) Went off with the biggest enemy of the Konoha Village
Orochimaru is by far the Konoha Village’s most troublesome foe, having assassinated the third Hokage, his own teacher. And Sasuke, a resident of the village, went off with the village’s most vexing foe in order to gain power. This is the point where we witness Sasuke willing to go to any length to get power.
After failing to hurt his brother Itachi and even losing the battle to Naruto, he understood he needed to grow more strongly in order to kill his brother and overcome his adversary. He abandons his buddies and hamlet in pursuit of power with the village’s most vexing foe.
3) Tried capturing Killer B
Upon the influence of the Akatsuki, he intends to capture Killer B the host of the eight tails Jinchuriki. This is one of the worst things he has done because Akatsuki is capturing the tailed beasts for world destruction. Without a second thought, he agrees to capture Killer B with murderous intent with his newly formed Akatsuki crew.
Although he does not succeed in killing Killer B, he does capture a piece of the eight tails. That was enough for Tobi to call the ten tails during the Fourth Ninja War, which may have ended the Shinobi world.
4) Attempted to kill his Friends to gain power
He attempted to murder Naruto and his companions several times, always with the goal of gaining power. Itachi advised him that if he desired greater power like the mangekyo Sharingan, he had to kill someone close to him or a friend.
He was spotted on occasion wanting to murder Naruto. Despite this, he was never successful. In truth, he despised the concept of attaining power the way Itachi (when he despised him) instructed him, and instead pursued his own dark path to dominance.
5) Never Listened to others
In the Naruto series, it was observed that Sasuke’s friends were constantly at his side, wishing him not to suffer alone. Even after he went rogue, Naruto yearned for Sasuke to return to the village. Every time Naruto and his friends tried to aid Sasuke, he either pushed them away or attempted to murder them.
He constantly excused it by saying that the others around him didn’t comprehend the anguish of losing his parents, let alone the entire tribe. If the guy had listened, he may have had a different outcome. As a result, he became an international criminal.
6) Almost killed Karin
Karin is one of the girls who is obsessed and in love with Sasuke. She is also one of his companions among the Akatsuki. In addition to that, she has always aided Sasuke and helped him heal by letting him bite her.
During his struggle with Danzo, Danzo takes Karin hostage in a last-ditch effort to win. But, without a second thought, Sasuke stabs Karin to death, killing Danzo. Furthermore, he attempts to murder Karin, claiming that she is no longer useful to him. He avoids killing Karin thanks to Sakura’s intervention.
7) Tried to kill Sakura
Shortly after Sasuke stabs Karin and attempts to finish her, Sakura intervenes and saves her. Her intention is to murder Sasuke, the guy she loves because he is suffering and causing difficulties for everyone around him. She expresses her desire to be with him and assist him in all aspects of his life.
Sasuke, suspicious of Sakura, demands that she finish Karin with a blade to demonstrate her devotion to him. When she hesitates to murder Karin, who is on the verge of dying, Sasuke kills her with malicious purpose. Fortunately, Kakashi and Naruto save her.
8) Declaration to kill all the five Kage and tailed beasts
After rescuing the world with Naruto and all of the shinobi world’s companions, he proclaims that he would murder the five kages and rid the world of the tailed creatures, including Naruto. He blames the current status of the planet on current leaders and tailed beasts. Sasuke’s purpose is identical to that of his brother Itachi in this case; he wants to save the entire world by eliminating the tailed monsters and present leaders and taking on the world’s anger on himself.
His character is made up of a variety of feelings. Sasuke is constantly on a mission, which often leads to a confrontation with his buddies. His declaration leads to a fight with Naruto. And as a result, they each lose a hand in this duel. Trying to accomplish things on his own, once again, culminates in nothingness.
9) Rejecting his family
Besides the Uchihas, his family now is Sakura and his daughter Sarada. He has never been close to those he considers to be his friends. He didn’t even show up to Naruto and Hina’s wedding. In addition, he abandoned his wife Sakura shortly after their daughter was born. And when he returned years later, he nearly killed his daughter because he didn’t recognize her.
He abandoned his family for years in order to safeguard the world from evil shinobi or the possibility of another Otsutsuki. Despite his love for Sakura and Sarada, he is a bad parent who abandoned his daughter after she was born and abandoned his wife when she needed him because he values his profession as a Shinobi above everything else.
10) Plotting to destroy the Konoha Village
When he discovers the truth behind Itachi’s sacrifice, he declares that he will destroy the village that his brother sacrificed to protect. Sasuke misunderstood Itachi’s intentions and attempted to do the opposite in his late brother’s honors. With the help of Akatsuki, he did a lot of awful things to the Konoha village with a mix of emotions.
Itachi massacred the Uchiha clan to prevent a civil war and spared his younger brother so he might live in peace. But Sasuke never seemed to be at ease. He went on to exact his vengeance and commit a slew of heinous crimes. The worst thing Sasuke ever did was a scheme to destroy the village that was meant to be protected.
