A Japanese manga series created and illustrated by Ken Wakui was serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from March 2017 through November 2022. The second season of the anime series premiered in January 2023. A live-action film adaptation will follow in July 2021, and a sequel follow in 2023.
This series is about Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old guy who is going through a rough time in his life. He doesn’t live like a respectable adult and is jobless. Nobody knows him, and his room is messy just like the rest of his existence.
Things then changed, and he became the pathetic man he is today, with no hope of a brighter future. One day, he learns that his middle school girlfriend was murdered by the notorious Tokyo Manji Gang. Shortly after, Takemichi dies and miraculously returns to the same day 12 years before.
He still has his friends and his love in this reality, whose little brother, Hinata, turns out to be the key that permits him to travel back and forth in time. With this power, he intends to save his girlfriend by collaborating with Hinata.
We see in episode 10 that as Takemichi realizes that Mikey and Draken came to the church because of his breakup with Hinata, he makes up with her. Mikey tells Takemichi about Shinichiro and discusses their resemblances. Mitsuya and Draken reminisce about their first meeting.
Tokyo Manji Gang members celebrate the New Year at a shrine and prepare for their next meeting there. Let’s see when episode 11 of Tokyo Revengers Season 2 is going to release, the timings, a recap of episode 1o, and where to watch it.
Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Episode 10 Review
In the episode’s opening scene, Takemichi encounters Hina and is lost for words. We see how she learned that her father had told her boyfriend to end their relationship because he was a hoodlum. She understands her father’s concern but still loves Takemichi.
Takemichi’s resolve causes her to argue with her father and tell him how wonderful a person he is in real life, knowing that he is always there for her. After breaking up, she goes to the shrine, where she meets Emma by chance.
As Hina explains her problems to Emma, Emma calls Draken and Mikey and asks them to send Takemichi to Hina’s house. As a result, Mikey and Draken were able to confront Taiju in the church. Takemichi readily admits that he knows he’s an adverse influence, but he’s determined to protect Hina no matter what. After they get back together, Mikey steals Takemichi and takes him on a drive.
The episode imparted some interesting information. We knew about Mikey’s older brother Shinichiro before, but we never really got to know him in depth. In this scene, Mikey admits that Takemichi is very much like his older brother, who is weaker than all the other members of his gang, despite being the leader.
Like Takemichi, who was physically weak but never gave up in an adverse situation despite being physically weak, he would shine brightest when he led the pack. As he once told his brother, if he ever went off the right path, Takemichi would scold him and show him the right way, just as he does now.
