Fans of cozy creature-collecting games have another title to look forward to, as Belgian indie developer Digging Dino has confirmed that Tiny Monster Haven will launch on Steam on August 11. Designed as an idle-friendly desktop experience, the game allows players to build and manage their own Monster Haven while collecting, raising, and evolving more than 50 unique monsters.

Unlike traditional monster-catching RPGs, Tiny Monster Haven continues running at the bottom of your screen, allowing creatures to assist with daily tasks even while players focus on other activities. Alongside its relaxing management systems, the game also features farming, cooking, turn-based combat, and a light RPG campaign, offering a blend of passive progression and active gameplay. The title will launch at an introductory price of $7.19, reflecting a 10% launch discount until August 18, after which it will retail for $7.99. A discounted bundle with Valorware’s Boil Cabbage Make Soup will also be available.

Monsters help automate your growing Haven

At the center of the experience is the player’s customizable Monster Haven, where each creature contributes to daily operations. Some monsters water crops and pollinate plants, while others harvest ingredients or prepare meals to strengthen the entire team.

Players can grow crops, cook recipes, and improve monster abilities while gradually unlocking additional areas and decorative items. Seasonal changes and day-night cycles also influence gameplay, with certain monsters only appearing under specific conditions, encouraging exploration throughout the in-game calendar.

Outside the Haven, players can challenge wild monsters through turn-based battles and various mini-games to earn Monster Essence. This resource is used to unlock new monster eggs, teach creatures additional moves, and evolve them into stronger forms.

As players build a more powerful team, they’ll venture on a compact RPG adventure featuring towns, routes, NPC trainers, and Elemental Gurus, all leading toward a tournament championship. The game also offers extensive decoration options, allowing players to personalize their Haven with flowers, trees, fountains, and other cosmetic upgrades unlocked throughout the campaign.

Founded in 2025, Digging Dino is a Belgium-based independent studio focused on nostalgic pixel-art RPGs. With its combination of idle progression, cozy life simulation, and classic monster-training mechanics, Tiny Monster Haven aims to offer a relaxing experience for players looking to collect creatures while building a thriving fantasy sanctuary.
