They are grateful to Marie for saving them. Marie calms down for a moment before being approached by Livia and Angie.
Livia, Angie, and Marie love Leon. Marie reveals how Leon evades the topic every time she brings it up. Livia confesses her feelings for Leon too. The young women realize Leon loves Angie because she is a noble like him. The epiphany of Leon never viewing Livia and Marie in the same light as Angie strikes them. However, the girls are resolute.
