The sophomore season of Amazon Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time starring Rosamund Pike has hit the screens with a loud bang, giving us a glimpse into a high fantasy world with many surprises and excitements in which the forces of good and evil clash for supremacy of a realm along with plotting, conspiring and conniving that makes Game of Thrones look like a game of checkers.
As the second season picks up on the adventures of the main protagonists and slightly adapting the elements in the “The Great Hunt” book series, we’re going to make a recap of this series, fair warning ahead: there are some spoilers for context. Now, without any further ado, let’s talk about this series’s latest episode.
The Wheel of Time Season 2 Episode 3 Recap
Moiraine has become even more reserved since losing her powers. Even he is cut off from her emotions now that their connection has broken. She won’t open up to him about what’s going on in her head or what she’s doing in secret, which irritates him. In the home of two retired Aes Sedais, they have found safety.
Every day she interacts with a variety of people, one of whom gives her something that might finally mean something. It’s a poem, but its subject is kept a secret. She also finds out that the Fades have found her. When she tries to flee at night, they almost kill her, but Lan saves her. Moiraine discovers that the situation is much worse than she had anticipated as the Fades pursue her. Lan is instructed to return to the White Tower while she leaves.
Nynaeve and Egwene are honing their skills at the Tower as the newcomers. While Nynaeve hasn’t channeled since the battle at the end of the previous season, in which she nearly died, Egwene is committed and eager to learn.
Liandrin thinks a good teacher can bring out the best in Nynaeve, whereas the others have grown impatient with her obstinacy. Even though her superiors have reservations about it, she takes the novice under her wing. Elayne, a new novice and the Daughter of Andor, becomes good friends with Egwene in the meantime.
Perrin is now part of the Shienarans and is searching for Padan Fain elsewhere.
He is still coping with his feelings for Egwene, the death of their friend Rand, and his first experience being away from all of his friends. His powers have also grown stronger, making it harder for him to distinguish between reality and his visions. He meets a similar-looking man but is reluctant to reveal his abilities. When his team encounters the Seanchans and Ishamael with them, he is taken out of the present situation.
Nynaeve and Egwyne are unaware that Mat has been captured by Liandrin and is being held at the Tower. He hasn’t picked up the knife in months, so he questions why he’s still being detained.
He attempts to escape by making an opening in the prison wall, but it leads to another cell where he joins Lin, a palm reader from the previous season. They become friends, but it soon becomes clear that Lin isn’t telling him the entire truth about her imprisonment.
Rand is focused on preventing himself from succumbing to the craziness that will unavoidably come for him after defeating the Dark One, or some version of it, in the previous season. He has unsettling dreams and hears voices all around him. He seeks out Logain, the only one who can save him from going insane.
