The popular show The Summer I Turned Pretty is ending its third season. This decision makes sense because each season is based on a book from Jenny Han’s famous trilogy. The third and final season will premiere in July 2025 and have 11 episodes. However, the exact release date has not been shared yet.
Prime Video had already announced that the show would return for another season, but it is now official that this will be the last one. A new teaser image has also been released, showing Lola Tung as Belly. She is wearing a bright yellow dress, and at the bottom of the image, the text reads, “We’ll Always Have Summer.”
This series is based on Jenny Han’s bestselling novel and tells the story of Isabel “Belly” Conklin. She spends her summers at Cousins Beach, where she becomes part of a love triangle with two brothers, Conrad and Jeremiah. Over the years, Belly’s relationships and feelings change as she grows up.
At the end of Season 2, Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah work together to stop Aunt Julia from selling Susannah’s beach house. Although they face difficulties, they manage to keep the house in the end. Season 3 will likely focus on how Belly’s feelings develop and how the three friends handle life after high school.

Season 3 Will Wrap Up the Story
Since the show closely follows the books, fans expected it to end soon. However, because there was no official announcement for some time, some people thought it might continue beyond the three seasons.
The creators have found a way to end the story without making it too long. The first season had seven episodes, and the second season had eight. Now, the final season will have 11 episodes, which will give the writers enough time to tell the story properly.
Jenny Han’s books had already built a loyal fanbase before the show was released. When The Summer I Turned Pretty premiered in 2022, it became an instant success and quickly became the most-watched show on Prime Video during its debut weekend.
The second season, which came out in 2023, performed even better. Within the first three days of its release, it had more than twice as many viewers as the first season!
Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka are the project’s showrunners and executive producers. They are joined by Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen. The final season does not have an exact release date yet, but fans can expect it to arrive in July 2025. Stay tuned for more updates!
