The show follows a group of exceptional specialists as they restore some of the most expensive items in the public domain. The Repair Shop Plot
The Repair Shop is a British daytime television show developed by Ricochet that aired on BBC Two from series one to three and subsequently on BBC One from series four onwards, in which a diverse range of experts repair family antiques for their owners. Jay Blades, the foreman, is a furniture restorer.
Professional craftspeople from across the country restore cherished family antiques for their owners in each episode. Heirlooms are frequently discovered on social media, and owners are not reimbursed for restoration work.
Viewers hear about the artefacts’ emotional and familial history and the conditions that inspired them before marveling at the technological talents and advances used to restore them to a more cared-for and functional state.
