In the previous chapter of The Problematic Prince, readers witnessed the blossoming relationship between Erna and Bjorn as they spent quality time together aboard a ship. The Problematic Prince Chapter 46 leaves readers eager and curious to find out if the bond between Erna and Bjorn will continue to strengthen and grow or face challenges.
Erna expressed heartfelt gratitude to Pavel through a thoughtful letter for kindly keeping her company and looking after her in an unfamiliar city. She sincerely told Pavel that she would always fondly remember and appreciate his kindness, generosity, and support during the time spent together.
Pavel wondered and imagined what could have been if he had been the one to serendipitously find Erna instead of Bjorn that fateful day. She was standing outside the train station alone. Pavel imagined that perhaps Erna would have chosen him over Bjorn if their paths had crossed first.
Each morning, Bjorn would warmly greet Erna, who often had little recollection or memory of how their intimate nights spent together had ended.
Even when exhausted, Erna fell into a deep sleep; it was as if she had lost consciousness and awareness, yet Bjorn steadfastly refused to let her go. Bjorn claimed Erna simply needed to learn and get used to their intense nights together.
Recap and Review
Erna realized that she had made the wrong decision in not staying with Madam Pegg as her teacher. She now felt regret that she had chosen the wrong mentor and path. But it was too late for regrets, and Erna was certain they had already passed by the area where dolphins could be glimpsed in the waters.
Despite being together on the ship, Erna and Bjorn had not ventured out even once yet, even though it was already afternoon. Their destination of Lars was still a long distance away; it would take another three days of sailing to arrive there.
The plan was to anchor briefly at Lars before continuing on to the next country by ship. When Bjorn tried to explain all of this to Erna, she told him bluntly that she did not require him to elucidate the journey details to her.
The delegation urgently sent a corrected report to Bjorn, requesting he review it immediately. Bjorn casually asked Erna if she would like to have some tea when suddenly several invitations arrived addressed to Erna.
The maid informed Erna that she needed to respond to all the invitations by the end of the day. Erna assured the maid she would look them over because her husband was excelling in carrying out his princely duties, so she also wanted to succeed in her role as princess consort. However, Erna did not recognize most of the senders.
Spoilers and Expectations
Madam Fitz had advised Erna to ask the head maid, Karen, for assistance with such matters. Unfortunately, Karen harbored disdain for Erna and hoped the marriage would dissolve before Erna could get pregnant, allowing Bjorn’s reunion with Princess Gladys to go smoothly.
Karen had even bet the other maids that Erna would not last longer than six months. She brazenly made this wager in the library, within earshot of Erna’s bedroom.
So Erna was already aware of Karen’s ill intentions and had no desire to conceal her true feelings. Erna recognized a few invitations intended for Princess Gladys, but four were complete mysteries to her.
Though reluctant to interrupt Bjorn’s work, Erna had no choice but to ask if he was familiar with House Hopkins. Bjorn admitted he knew nothing about them or Houses Etmon and Rwelyn either. The only one he recognized was the Forester family.
