The Killing Vote is a South Korean mystery thriller drama that was originally adapted from a webtoon with the title “Gukminsahyeongtupyo,” written by Um Se Yoon and illustrated by Jung Yi Pum.
This crime-thrilling drama is just as promising as its name. One can feel the goosebumps in each passing episode. This series will make you feel pity for the felon as well as the detectives who are after this felon.
Directed by Park Shin Woo, The Killing Vote tells the story of a very peculiar phenomenon. An app called Killing Vote gets installed for every citizen’s phone automatically, and then a person with Dog Maks appears who declares a criminal and asks citizens to vote on whether he deserves the punishment or not.
If the response is more than 50% for killing, the criminal would be found killed the next day. Slowly, the citizens started appreciating Dog Makes for giving the right punishment to criminals who are at par just because of the so-called law. But police can not track down any trace of how these criminals were getting murdered.
As the case gets more and more serious, three people get tangled in it to solve it. Kim Moo Chan, who is the leader of the First Investigation team, Joo Hyun, who works at the Cyber Safety Bureau and is very timid along with Kwon Seok Joo, who was a former lawyer but is now in prison for killing his sister’s rapist.
The previous episode of The Killing Vote was full of action and thriller, which kept the viewers stuck to their seats till the end. Hyun anyhow sneaks into Min-Soo’s secret room to find any evidence against him. He opens his computer and copies all the files, and eventually, she ends up finding a very distinctive file called “Fun Folder.”
On opening the file, Hyun finds the recording of Woo Taek and Min Soo with Na Rae of the night Min Soo was killed. She gets shocked seeing the video and immediately recovers the file. Hyun sent the video to Mu Chan, who was also left speechless after watching the video. Hyun then tells him that she is stuck here and will take some time to investigate.
On the other hand, Min follows Ji-Hoon, and after being caught, Ji-Hoon comes up with a great excuse. But to prevent Min Soo from going home, Ji-Hoon tries to divert his way so that she can’t catch Hyun. Luckily, Min gets a phone call, and Ji Hoo takes this as a chance to warn Hyun to make her way out of the house.
By the end of the episode, as per the voting, Gaetal finally starts torturing Min Soo with loud music. Meanwhile, Ko Dong Gyu helps the police to track down the location of Gaetal. Upon reaching there, they find unconscious Min Soo lying down and Gaetal smiling at his death. Mu Chan tries to stop him and do CPR on Min Soo, but he is stopped by Gaetal.
