The Great Food Truck Race Season 16 Episode 1 release date is what fans are waiting for right now. The series throws light on a cooking reality TV program. Food Network has commissioned the show for their channel, where we witness food trucks taking part in the competition. For years, this series has served as a late summer show that has a variety of teams who drive across the United States in their food trucks. Each of them stops at various cities in order to sell food.
A new season was commissioned by the channel last year after analyzing the success of previous installments. With the new episodes, there are some new announcements made by the creators as well. It is revealed that four veteran trucks will be taking part in the upcoming episodes.
The season is subtitled David vs. Goliath. These gour trucks are to go against the five teams of novices in the season. They will all be traveling through the streets of Los Angeles. To make things even spicier, these nine trucks are going to face some huge challenges in their course through which their patience and competence will be tested.
The judging panel will have a Major Leave Baseball player, a celebrity chef, and some of the past winners from the previous seasons of the series. In the end, the winner will be awarded with a cash prize of 50,000 dollars.
The Great Food Truck Race Season 16 Team Details
The teams have also been disclosed. The first one is 2 Girls Jamaican Tacos. It will come under David and is led by Shelly Flash. The truck serves hot and classic Jamaican food such as tacos and uses the same to represent the multicultural background that Shelly grew up in Brooklyn.
The second team is called 4 Hens Creole Kitchen. It is David’s Team. We will see the Wives and mothers of two, Brandi Artis as well as Brittany Artis. They have a business of brick and mortar locally in St. Louis. But with this season, they will be seen exploring the food truck business.
The third team is called The Block. They are under David as well. It is led by Terry Anthony, who worked in corporate till 2015, when he found his calling with food and opened a culinary business. Right now, he is seen working at a successful Indianapolis restaurant.
The fourth team is called D’Pira Cepa. It will come under Goliath. Jose Carmot and his fiance Janshanic Santos will drive this classic Puerto Rican street food truck. They were not always working on a food truck but were trying to pay homage to their culture through their culinary skills.
The fifth team is called Da Bald Guy. It is Goliath’s team. This truck consists of a family business run by cousins named James Martin and Missy Rabaino, along with Ali’i Pukahi. It was James’ father who started a culinary business with a restaurant in Honolulu. The truck serves Hawaiian street food.
