Many believe that love has no age restrictions. There’s plenty of evidence in The Golden Bachelor to back up the idea that there’s an ideal hour of the day for love.
Women from all over the United States who are sixty years of age or older and want to try their luck at finding love again are featured on the dating show. To delve deeper into their romantic lives, twenty-four ladies joined the series. The one individual who can relate to them all, though, is Gerry Turner.
Gerry, a 72-year-old retired restaurant owner, lost his wife a long time ago, and he’s hoping to locate the woman who would bring him back home.

Gerry Turner’s quest to find true love again reaches a turning point with this week’s episode of The Golden Bachelor. Will it be Leslie, the exuberant dance instructor who despises leather, loves stale cookies, and has the most intriguing part of any BachelorNation participant (she dated Prince, in case you missed it)?
Or will it be Theresa, the widow from New Jersey who may have perfected the art of the modest brag but who has yet to hear from the handsome man from the Midwest who won her over on a risky nighttime drive on the interstate in California?
Even though we are unaware that The Golden Bachelor is posing an even more significant and frequently disregarded issue with implications beyond reality TV, our disappointment is short-lived as we find out the answer tonight. Do senior citizens f*ck? We will soon find out.
Tonight, “Chasing Waterfalls” on TLC is a winner for two reasons. To start with, the song just slaps. But even though Chili, T-Bone, and Left Eye’s poetic stylings caution against approaching these aqueous natural wonders too closely, chasing waterfalls also happens to be an incredibly romantic adventure for two elderly people looking for a deeper connection in Costa Rica’s wild jungles.
Before allowing their endorphins to settle in a swimming pool at the base of a 170-foot waterfall, Gerry and Leslie test the limits of their aging bodies and Leslie’s fear of heights. Although the rocks were slick, was there anything more? To discover out, we would have to wait until the nighttime date.
You’ll never be able to persuade us that Faith’s prospects with Gerry were spoiled by her insane horse pets (rather than by her controlling kids), and now these enormous donkeys have struck again. During Theresa’s one-on-one date, Gerry found it difficult to separate his affections for both ladies following an emotional overnight stay with Leslie.
He was so divided that he gave his horse more of his attention than his possible spouse over the majority of their journey through the bush. Theresa was able to defuse the situation, but only after insisting that they get off those trotting c*ckblocks and have face-to-face conversations.
Perhaps the most relevant moment for Gerry on the show thus far came when he learned that even a five-star resort luxurious enough to be featured on reality TV was so cheap that it heated every room to a scorching 80 degrees.
Leslie’s sex joke, which showcased her ability to pull off comedic timing and her accurate scientific interpretation of the perfect room temperature, was the only thing that could top it. This isn’t Bachelor in Paradise, so it’s not like we wanted to see Gerry getting into hot and heavy arguments with either of the women on their dream suite dates.
However, The Golden Bachelor could have done a better job with product placement if they truly intended to portray a realistic picture of dating in later life. Perhaps a cursory glance at a Viagra bottle on Gerry’s bedside table or a fast glimpse at an organic lubricant tube in Leslie’s overnight luggage.
Something like, “Yeah, we’re old enough to understand how biology works, but we’re also horny.” Gerry admits to Theresa that he has no idea what job she is working for during their romantic dinner date. Theresa has been training herself how to trade and invest in stocks to pay for her healthcare while he has been enjoying retirement.
