The 2026 Skin Contest for The First Descendant has entered its final stage, with developer Nexon officially opening community voting for the contest’s finalist entries.
After receiving submissions between May 22 and June 26, the company has invited eligible players to help determine this year’s winning custom skin designs while also outlining several important rules for both voters and finalists.
Voting is now live through July 20, 2026 (00:00 PDT) on the official event page. Players can cast their votes in two separate categories—Descendant and Vehicle—with one vote allowed per category. Alongside the voting announcement, Nexon also released detailed guidelines covering finalist file submissions, contest integrity, and the requirements that participants must follow to remain eligible for awards.
The announcement marks the final step before Nexon selects the contest winners, whose designs could eventually make their way into The First Descendant after necessary adjustments for in-game implementation.
Who can vote in The First Descendant Skin Contest finals?
Not every player can participate in the final voting phase. Nexon confirmed that only accounts with Mastery Rank 10 or higher are eligible to vote.
Each qualifying account may submit one vote for a Descendant skin and one vote for a Vehicle skin, allowing a maximum of two votes in total. Once a vote has been submitted, it cannot be edited, canceled, or reversed.
To help players track the competition, Nexon said voting totals will be updated daily at 00:00 PDT throughout the voting period. Players are encouraged to review each finalist carefully before casting their votes because accidental selections cannot be corrected afterward.
Finalists must submit original design files
Alongside community voting, Nexon has instructed finalists to submit their original production files to verify ownership of their entries.
Finalists are required to email the original project files, including PSD files, to the designated contest email address between July 6 and July 20, 2026 (00:00 PDT). The email must include the prefix “[Original Submission]” in the subject line and contain the creator’s in-game account name, including the four-digit identifier that follows the account tag.
According to Nexon, failure to complete the original file submission process within the deadline may result in disqualification, even if the entry performs well during community voting.

Nexon outlines contest rules and anti-cheating measures
Nexon emphasized that maintaining fairness remains a priority throughout the finals. The company warned that finalist entries found to have advanced through inappropriate methods could be removed from the competition.
Players are also prohibited from attempting to influence votes through account sharing, promotional rewards, item giveaways, vote manipulation, or any form of tangible or intangible compensation. Any abnormal voting behavior, including the use of multiple accounts or unfair promotional activity, may lead to vote invalidation, disqualification, or award revocation.
The developer added that while community voting will determine the winners, final selections remain subject to verification for fraudulent activity.
Winning designs may be adjusted before release
Nexon also reminded participants that the Grand Prize-winning designs could undergo partial modifications before being added to the game. The company explained that technical limitations and optimization requirements may require adjustments during implementation while preserving the concept of the winning designs.
Additionally, finalists must complete required copyright transfer agreements and personal information verification before receiving prizes. Nexon noted that additional information, including identification documents, may be requested depending on the winner’s country of residence.
With voting now underway, eligible players have until July 20 to support their favorite community-created skins and help determine which designs will eventually become part of The First Descendant.
