In the first episode of The Executioner and Her Way of Life, Mutou Mitsuki is summoned to the Grisarika Kingdom by its king, who evaluates his power of the pure concept, followed by the summoning of another than he, a girl from Japan, the king. Mitsuki is shocked when he is in the castle with a girl from Japan when he is thrown out. In this new world, Mitsuki witnesses a priestess named Menou who explains to him how people who possess powerful energies called Lost Ones have been summoned throughout history. Japanese culture has engulfed the world as a result. Through exploring Mitsuki’s power he discovers his Pure Concept is highly destructive.
Flashbacks show that a Lost One destroyed Menou’s village before Flare, the assassin who trained her as an assassin, murdered her. She reveals she is an assassin for the church, killing Lost Ones before they pose a threat to the world. Menou kills Mitsuki instantly. She reports her successful kill and the existence of the second Lost One, the girl summoned after Mitsuki. A squad of soldiers attacks, uncovering the king’s plan to overthrow the church and rule without interference. Menoue kills the soldiers with help of assistance from Momo and infiltrates the castle that holds Akari Tokito.
