Lynn Painter, the great author who gave us Liz and Wes, the cutest couple to ever exist, is back with another brilliant book. We are yet to read the book, but we are sure that, like Better Than The Movies, this new book of hers will be amazing and heartwarming too, that will make us squeal with our toes curled as we cry over the fact that we will never get to experience a love like these characters.
All the romance readers by now have read this book at least once or twice. Because that book, as we mentioned earlier, is so cute, you would actually want to experience that kind of story. Wes is so whipped for his girl that readers can practically feel it even though he doesn’t say it outright. And don’t even get us started on when he actually does come forward and confess his feelings for her. Readers, we are not lying, we cried and sobbed for a good amount because Wes, that sweet boy, knows how to make a girl feel special.
Our love for Wes goes way deep, so we wonder what magic Lynn will do in her next book. As if any boy could ever compete with or even replace Wes. Sorry Lynn, but it’s your fault that we won’t ever love any boy you write as we do, Wes. Nevertheless, we expect The Do-Over will be good and cute with characters so good that we will be crying for them till the next year.

The Do-Over: What Is This Rom-Com Book About?
The Do-Over follows Emilie Hornby, who, after living through a dumpster fire of Valentine’s Day, just wants to escape to her grandmother’s house for some comfort and a consolation pint of Ben & Jerry’s. She passes out on the couch but wakes up in her own bed, and it’s Valentine’s Day all over again, and the next day, it’s another nightmare, Valentine’s Day again. She is stuck in some sort of time loop nightmare that she can’t wake up from.
As she re-watches her boyfriend, Josh, cheating on her daily, she also can’t seem to get away from the enigmatic Nick, who she keeps running into. How many days can a girl watch her life go up in flames? And when something good starts to come out of these terrible days, what happens when the universe stops doling do-overs?
Actually, let us go back to the moment when we said that this book would be cute because if we are guessing right, then this book will be anything but cute. It seems like The Do-Over might give us a dose of angst, perhaps the “enemies-to-lovers” trope too. If Nick and Emilie serve anything near enemies to lovers, then we can say certainly that this book might just top even our favorite, Better Than The Movies.
Since we haven’t read the book, we are just assuming that maybe this story won’t be real. Perhaps, Emilie ends up in a hospital bed, and she dreams up a good version of her ex-boyfriend. Or maybe, she ends up in a hospital bed, and Nick is the guy who accidentally hit her? Whether we get either of these two plots or a different story altogether, this book will be interesting to read. With the time loop plot and a love story between two unlikely characters, Lynn better be prepared for readers to spam her after we have read this book within a day.
The Do-Over: Release Date
Lynn’s new book, The Do-Over, will be released on 15th November 2022. Other titles written by Lynn Painter include Better Than The Movies and Better Than The Prom, Mr. Wrong Number, Accidentally Amy, and Love Wager, which will be released next year.
We request you read Better Than The Movies because that book won’t disappoint you. And if you are a Swiftie, like most of the readers generally are, then you should really read this book quickly because it’s really the cutest romance to ever exist. The YA romantic comedy book, The Do-Over will be published by Simon and Schuster.
