Codezero and POS Studio bring us an action-packed fantasy drama named The Chronicles of The Demon Faction. It deals with Martial Arts and Reincarnation and projects a narrative that directs toward the Shounen demographics. This manhwa follows a full-color and long-strip format, much like most webcomics.
The Chronicles of The Demon Faction tells the tale of an intrinsic desire for an unyielding pursuit- freedom. Since the dawn of human society, freedom has been an innate longing ingrained in our nature. It is a chase to live life on our terms, free from the shackles of external influence. Our protagonist, Chun Hajin, is a coveted martial master and an assassin who longs to live a free man’s life. His innate desire is to break free from the slavery of the Righteous Heavenly Alliance.
The story commences with the fugitive Chun Hajin massacring pursuers who impede his path to freedom. He faces opposition from the soldiers of the Righteous Heavenly Army who avenge the soldiers he vanquished. After defeating several martial masters, Chun Hajin collapses to the ground to catch his breath. He is tired and famished. He hadn’t had more than a couple of morsels in several days.
However, his moment is interrupted by the infamous Demon Queen, Kwak Sokyo. She is a killer with a notorious past. She presses Chun Hajin for information regarding the Nine Sects Martial Prowess. However, she faces his unwavering refusal with wrath. He vehemently denies her demands and a battle ensues. Suddenly, the First Elder joins the wretched Kwak Sokyo’s side, and the clash leads to Chun Hajin’s demise. He yearns for an ordinary life in his final moments before leaving his mortal shell forever.

The 11th Chapter opens with discussions about Cheon Hajin’s dark shadow QI. The practice of this dark shadow technique wasn’t extensive in Murim, but it was undeniably potent. Comparing it to the Secret Techniques of the Ten Great Sects was outlandish, but the purity of this technique was ahead of its time. The conversation then delves into the demonic arts and how it differs from other arts. These demonic arts concentrate on output rather than stability, attack over defense, and power over flexibility. It employs a method holding resemblance to that of assassins.
The third young master of Murim is intrigued by these demonic arts. He wants to pursue more; however, he does not possess the capability to delve deeper. He ponders how to enhance the dark shadow Qi using the infamous demonic arts. He realizes “true demonic arts” might answer this plaguing question. True Demonic Art forms the fundamental basis of demonic arts and demonic dissolution.
After going through the book on the demonic arts, the master is caught off guard by an unhinged monster. It is a monstrous chicken with wings as big as a human and three heads. It looks like a mutant of the great King Yanluo. The fast-paced chicken attacks him, wounding him brutally. However, instead of getting cornered, the young master picks a bamboo and utilizes it as a weapon. He injures the beast, but it is not dead.
