The Amazing Race began at the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, and the participants traveled to Bangkok, Thailand. The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 2 will pick where the previous episode ended in Thailand.

A former team appeared as judges at the first Roadblock in the first episode. Jocelyn & Victor stood in the first place, Rob & Corey at the second, and Elizabeth & Iliana at the twelfth. Meanwhile, Alexandra & Sheridan were eliminated.

Alexandra & Sheridan’s decision might have taken a toll on them. They selected the Sword Play routine and failed eight times because the swords were heavier and more difficult than the regular sticks. Andrea & Malaina experienced the same and switched to the torturous spa.

Andrea & Malaina completed the spa task and bagged the tenth position, though they wasted some time with the swords before going to the spa.

The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 1 Recap

Thirteen teams began their race from the starting line at Griffith Park – Hollywood Sign in The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 1, titled ‘The Amazing Race Is Back!’ It aired on 27 September 2023 (Wednesday).

Further, they went to the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, to find their clue and headed to the Los Angeles International Airport. They boarded a flight to Bangkok, Thailand, a holiday destination for several people, but sadly not for our contestants.

A team member had to walk on a tightrope across the buildings to get the next clue from Claire and Derek, last season’s winners. Joe, Andrea, and Greg took the challenge.

The teams boarded one of the two flights to Bangkok and traveled to Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen for the next clue. The fight for the Express Pass was shocking because the contestants had to eat fried insects in the name of the challenge.

Morgan and Lena ate fried insects and won the pass. Further, the contestants boarded the long-tail boats and tuk-tuk (in this order) to Wat Suthat. There, the contestants had two options: thirty seconds of a routine of swordplay or a painful Thai massage.

Asking the masseur to stop massaging would result in restarting the task from the end of the line. Only Andrea & Malaina chose the swordplay, while all other teams chose the painful Spa Day. They stopped at Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat in Mueang Nonthaburi.

Jocelyn & Victor won the cashback prize to go to Patagonia, Chile. Sadly, Alexandra & Sheridan cannot prove themselves in the upcoming episodes because of their elimination at the end of the premier.

The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 2 Preview

The remaining twelve teams will start from the previous episode’s Pit Stop, Wat Chaloem Phra Kiat Worawihan, in The Amazing Race Season 35 Episode 2, titled ‘You Don’t See That At Home.’

Elizabeth & Iliana fortunately got one more opportunity to prove themselves in the upcoming episodes. They are safe but at the twelfth position, according to the Leg 1 results. So, Elizabeth & Iliana’s tolerance to the painful Thai massage turned fruitful.

Let us see what the mother-daughter duo does to win the final amount for Iliana to leave her boring eight-hour job. A similar sword to Elizabeth & Iliana hangs on Robbin & Chelsea’s heads because they ended at the eleventh position.

According to the tiny preview, the remaining teams will dive deeper into Thailand and crave peace. Two contestants might return for a forgotten black bag, and 49-year-old Jocelyn Chao will wipe her tears traversing a lake on a boat.
