Tencent Games has wrapped up its gamescom 2026 presence in Cologne, Germany, following a showcase that combined new game announcements, playable experiences and developer-focused technology demonstrations. The company’s biggest spotlight came during Opening Night Live, where Morefun Studios revealed the first global closed beta for Roco Kingdom.
The Roco Kingdom global closed beta, known as the Quack Quack Test, is scheduled to begin on October 27, 2026. The test will be available on PC, iOS and Android, while the full game is planned for PC, consoles and mobile platforms.
Tencent Games showcased games and development technology
At the Tencent Games booth, visitors could play and explore titles including Animula Nook, Honor of Kings, Honor of Kings: World, Honor of Kings: ACE, Arena of Valor and Rust Mobile. The booth also featured mini-games, prizes and interactive activities designed to give attendees hands-on access to Tencent’s broader portfolio.
Meanwhile, gamescom dev focused on the technology behind Tencent’s games. Teams including Central Tech, Motus AI, GIGA, Tencent Games Vox, MagicDawn, Anti-Cheat Expert, GVoice and WeTest presented tools covering content creation, gameplay systems and long-term live-service operations.
Tencent also showcased Light AI, LightSpeed Studios’ in-house platform for generating game assets with AI. Limited beta access is planned to open in September, with a broader launch expected across multiple global regions.
The Roco Kingdom announcement marked another major step for Tencent’s global expansion strategy. The creature-collecting open-world RPG has already found a substantial audience in China, with Tencent reporting more than 13 million average daily active users across PC and mobile during its first month.
