Recap
We saw how Yeon [played by Lee Doo-wook] is seen to become a little skeptical of Moo’s reappearance when they first reunite in the latest episode. Then we see how Yeon pulls out his sword and assaults Moo [portrayed by Ryu Kyung] as the two buddies are having a little talk. Later, as her subordinates warn her of the altercation, Hong [Kim So-yeon] is seen arriving on the scene and then begs her two closest friends to put an end to it. She soon tries to get them to stop by begging, but it doesn’t work, so she draws her sword.
We get to see some flashbacks, which transport us back in time to the moment when a very young Yeo, along with Moo-young and Hong-Joo, create a pack using Taluipa’s comb while everything else is happening. A little bit of the Taluipa’s comb is shown to be in possession of every one of the three pals. Then to establish his identity, Moo-young gave Yeon a piece of Taluipa’s comb.
Later we see how Yeon is shown to be left bleeding, and Hong-Joo soon draws her sword, which forces her to finally confess to killing Moo’s bro on the same day that the four mountaintop deities were slaughtered.
Due to the immense loss of blood, Yeon becomes unconscious and leaves Moo to decide whether to kill him or not. Then we saw how In the meantime, Rang and Yee continue to get closer, and after spending a night out dining together, Yeo makes a commitment to guard Rang when Rang praises her fighting prowess.
When Yeo-hee arrives at her house, Rang keeps an eye on her to assure her safety. Rang is seen to be acting as though he doesn’t care for Yeo-hee, but he actually does. Shin-Joo and Eun-ho were surprised to recognize familiar faces. As he tells Hong-Joo about his plans to use Yeon to make amends for the past, Mu-Yeong gives his blood to Yeon to let his best buddy live.
Although Moo-Yeong withholds certain information from his pals, the spectator is aware that he struck a bargain with the cunning god who resides in the underworld. After recovering from his injuries, Yeon follows Moo-yeong into the courtyard, where he confronts him and asks him about his motivations.
Yeon learns that Moo-yeong was searching for a treatment for the stone sickness that spread throughout his chest. Gisaengs, who observe the arrival of the newest straw shoes and interpret them as a bad omen, cause chaos in the town.
After Yeon and Moo-Yeong disappeared from the chamber with the patchwork and appeared in the scene with multiple ladies engaged in sword fighting, the episode concludes with the audience wondering whether or not they were slain.
