Up until now in Summer Time Rendering: Washing Shore
The third episode was unlike the last two episodes of the Summer Time Rendering. More precisely, there were no murders in this episode of Summer Time Rendering. It was a slow-paced episode where the episode gave more attention to the investigation part. The episode began with Shinpei and Mio discussing about rescuing Shiori Kobayakawa and discovering the family’s whereabouts. Shinpei suggests that he should go alone, so Mio stays protected. Even going early in the morning, he discovers that no one is in the Kobayakawa household. Along with the neighbor women, Shinpei goes inside the house and discovers the disintegrated body mark that shadows have left.
However, they are only adult-sized body marks, and still, Shiori is missing. After going upstairs, he hears the same click of the camera that indicates whenever a shadow is present. It turns out that Shiori was missing all along, and it was Shiori’s shadow all the way. As the shadow was about to kill Shinpei, the neighbor comes upstairs, and thanks to her interesting, Shinpei is saved. Later, the only police officer on the island, Tetsu gives Shinpei a cell phone and says Ushio asked him to give it to Shinpei if anything were to happen to her. Along with Sou and Mio, they plan on going to the shrine on the day of the festival.
On the night of the festival, Sou and Shinpei talk about protecting Mio and Sou’s feelings for Mio. Upon asking about Shinpei’s feelings regarding Mio, he says she is his family. Shinpei then sees an aura of Ushio and follows her to the beach. Just as the fireworks start, we see Ushio’s face.
