Directed by Adrian Lyne, Flashdance was released on 15 April 1983 in the United States. This American romantic drama dance film followed the story of Alexender “Alex” Owens and Nick Hurley. Alex, as a passionate dancer, wanted to become a professional ballet dancer. To meet her expenses, she started to work in a Steel mill in Pittsburgh. There she met Nick, the owner of the mill. The scene where Jennie falls while ice skating was shot at Culver Ice Rink. Located in Culver City, California. The apartment where Hannah was residing is situated at 2100 Sidney Street. When Alex went to visit Hannah, she used Duquesne incline cable cars, located near Pittsburgh’s South Side neighborhood.
The Pittsburgh Conservatory of Dance that you have seen in the movie was shot at the Carnegie Music Hall. This music hall is an integral part of the Carnegie Museum of Art, which is situated near the campuses of the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh.

The opening scene of the movie, where Alex was seen riding a bicycle, was shot in the Fineview neighborhood of Pittsburgh’s North Side.
You must be aware of the Zanzibar strip club from the film. The exterior of the club was filmed on Main Street, north of the seventh street in downtown Los Angeles. While the interior of the club was filmed at Star Strip Gentlemen’s Club. This club is located at 365 North La Cienega Boulevard, situated in West Hollywood.

Who were the Body Doubles of Belle in Flashdance?
Flashdance will always be remembered for its poster in which Belle wore a sweatshirt will a large neck hole. The dance that Belle performed in the movie was not her steps instead, a body double performed all those steps.
The dance that she performed at the end of the movie, which was basically a breakdance, was performed by a male dancer Crazy Legs.
