Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Episode 4 is set to release very soon. Between March 2010 and February 2015, Kadokawa Shoten released seventeen volumes of a Japanese fantasy light novel series written by Miri Mikawa and illustrated by aki under the Kadokawa Beans Bunko banner.
It’s a story about a 15-year-old girl, Anne Halford, who lives in a world where fairies exist. Fairies in this world co-exist with humans, but humans force them to work against their will. It is human nature to pluck one of the fairies’ wings, as the life force of the fairies lies within them. Even though fairies can survive without wings, if they lose their wings, they become weak and eventually die. Sugar Confections are also made by the fairies.
We see in episode 3 that in exchange for paying for their stay at the doctor’s inn, fellow guest Hugh asks Anne and Jonas to make confections. Although Hugh smashes Jonas’ and Anne’s confections, he agrees to pay for their stay even though he criticizes their lack of ingenuity and creativity.
During the night, Challe remembers the time he befriended Elizabeth, but she was killed by humans 15 years ago, which led him to distrust humans. In the morning, Anne prepares for her entry confection but discovers that her silver sugar supply has mysteriously vanished.
Sugar Apple Fairy Tale Episode 3 Review
During Anne’s visit to the Doctor’s Inn, a stranger named Hugh becomes intrigued by her after she asks if the fairies could dine with them. Taking a page from her mother’s book, Anne creates a rose that will make the white sugar sparkle. He asks both Anne and Jonas to make Sugar Sweets for him. This Hugh character may be one of the judges at the Competition or even a Royal Sugar Sweet Master. Who do you think he is?
Both of their designs are crushed by him, and he dishes out some heavy critique. It broke my heart for them both, especially Anne. As Anne runs to her room, Shall teases her, then unexpectedly comforts her. He tells her he’ll grow up beautiful in a few years, and her Silver Sugar-making skills will also change and grow. Who knew our sly and cynical warrior fairy could be so charming?
His typical fashion is to flare up and argue with Anne. Shall shares the story of his birth, how he was born to the gaze of a young girl, Liz, who had strawberry blond hair like Anne’s. It was seven years ago when Shall was born, and fifteen years later, he remained by her side. His point was made, but he wouldn’t have disclosed his origin if Anne didn’t trust him.
Shall’s heart freezes when Anne discovers Liz was murdered by humans, and she decides to make him some sugar sweets to ease his suffering. A whole barrel of wine disappears from Anne’s carriage when she goes into it. Cathy points out Mithril as the culprit, which he fervently denies, but upon seeing Anne’s suspicion, he disappears, heartbroken. Shall runs to investigate what happened, and Jonas is also there.
Anne is at a loss for what to do as she runs out of sugar. We observe Anne and Jonas in the background harvesting apples and creating silver sugar, as Jonas suggests. Along the way, you’ll come across some delicious apples. When the silver sugar is ready, Anne thinks long and hard before deciding to build a masterpiece based on her mother’s designs.
Jonas declares his love while attempting to kiss Anne. Anne strikes him across the face. Anne is relaxing with Shall after finishing her piece. Jonas suddenly appears and congratulates Anne. Jonas attaches the carriage with the design to his horses and rides away before Anne can respond. Before Anne can respond, wild dogs charge for the shelter.
I had no reason to mistrust him, and he grabbed Anne’s piece and abandoned her to die. Cathy used unclean blood to entice them. Jonas is a wolf dressed as a sheep. Even though Anne instructed Shall to run after Jonas, he remained and fought the wild creatures instead.
