The final set of Stone Ocean is out, at last. Did it end the long struggle between Jolyne Cujoh and Enrico Pucci? Stone Ocean was released in three parts, and its final set came out on December 1, 2022. JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure is one of the most popular anime worldwide, and Stone Ocean ended the series’ most important plot. With its first episode released in 2012, fans have awaited each new episode with much interest.
One of the most important ideas that make JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure different is the appearance of new protagonists in different seasons. Each new season tells the story of the adventures of one member of the Joestar family. Though everyone is fighting a different evil, it’s all connected by fate with the main antagonist, Dio Brando, who returns as a powerful vampire, and the final protagonist Enrico Pucci.
Things began with the first season, Phantom Blood/Battle Tendency; Dio Brando, a stepson of the Joestar family, plans to take over the Joestar Fortune from his stepbrother and rightful heir, Jonathan ‘JoJo’ Joestar. The five seasons begin with Phantom blood and ends at Stone Ocean. But did it have a happy ending? The story seems to take a significant curve after the final fight. Stone Ocean Episode 38 Recap
When Emporio finds himself in the Green Dolphin Streets Prison, he starts hearing Jolyne and Jotaro’s voices, which is a facade. A blood-covered Pucci explains how they crossed the end of their Universe and entered a new one entirely. Pucci uses Made in Heaven to attack Emporio, but things start repeating, precisely as it happened on November 30, 2011.
Emporio and Pucci became aware of what was happening; when Emporio was waiting for the two guards to trip, one had a Deja Vu, the priest appeared, and he remembered his destiny. The happening of these predicted events though they had already crossed their Universe, it was the effect of Made in Heaven. An alone Emporio runs, and Pucci follows him.
Remembering Jolyne’s words, a crying Emporio in front of the ghost room gains inner power and determination. Just as they all get sucked into the ghost room, Emporio reveals the Weather Report’s Disc that he had stored. And he used Pucci to get the DISC into his head; he couldn’t do that alone because only Pucci could change fate due to Made in Heaven. This changed the predicted future from the previous Universe, and now anything could happen.
Emporio makes a play and increases the oxygen saturation in the room to forty percent, which is highly dangerous to organisms in their pure form. Pucci’s hand starts bulging, and Emporio starts bleeding through the eyes. When the awakened Stand crushes Pucci’s face down, he pleads to Emporio. He is ready to make a deal because everything he worked on will be lost, and no one will be able to predict future events.
A place where everyone knows their future is Pucci’s Heaven. Emporio rejects his plea and says that predicting fate is precisely why he loses. Emporio also says he is not defeating him alone; the rest of the team is there too. Weather Report kills the priest, and everything gets sucked into a spiral.
Stone Ocean Ending Explained
Emporia opens his eyes at Green Dolphin Street and is amazed to see Ermes coming out of the bus. Just on the side is Anakiss, former Anasui, standing by his car with Jolyne Joestar as Irene in the vehicle. The four of them get in the car, and as they are moving, they see Weather Report on the way; though only Emporio recognizes him, they take him in the car, and the show ends with the faces of Jolyne, Jotaro, Ermes, F.F., Anasui, and Weather Report in the cloud.
This doesn’t seem like a reset but more like a move to a parallel universe since they are all present but don’t recognize each other. Moreover, a reset would cause Pucci to emerge with the same purpose, and the cycle repeats, and only the existence of a parallel universe might break it. Besides, Jolyne and Anasui are also present with different names, but together, as they always wanted, a new reality untouched by Pucci.
