Stassi Schroeder’s daughter, Hartford, is a big fan of the musical Wicked—so much so that she’s willing to cause some drama for it. On December 26, Stassi’s husband, Beau Clark, shared a video on Instagram that captured an amusing, yet painful moment during the family’s holiday celebrations.
The video, posted by Clark, shows 3-year-old Hartford dressed in a yellow dress, holding a broomstick like Elphaba’s from Wicked, all while the song “Defying Gravity” plays in the background. Hartford was enthusiastically singing along with her mom, Stassi, and twirling the broomstick in the air. In the process, Hartford accidentally struck Stassi in the face with the broom. The impact drew blood, and Stassi’s response to the situation was priceless.
As the broom collided with Stassi’s face, Hartford quickly asked, “Are you OK?” While Stassi wondered aloud if she now looked like Dracula, she turned to her husband for reassurance. As the camera zoomed in, blood could be seen dripping down the side of Stassi’s mouth. Stassi asked, “Is it really that bad?” while Beau continued to gasp and exclaim, “Oh, my God.”
Despite the injury, Stassi laughed, unsure if Beau was exaggerating. When Hartford brought a cloth to wipe off her mother’s face, Stassi could barely contain her disbelief. Hartford, looking concerned, apologized for the incident, saying, “I’m so sorry.” The entire sequence was made even more amusing with the Wicked soundtrack still playing in the background, adding a humorous touch to the situation.
Stassi later explained the nature of the injury in the comments section of Beau’s video. She clarified that while the incident was painful, the injury wasn’t as severe as it appeared. “That side of my chin has always been numb ever since the chin implant lol,” Stassi revealed, referring to a cosmetic surgery procedure she had done at age 18.
Stassi and Beau Clark share two children: Hartford and their son, Messer, who is 15 months old. Since becoming a mother, Stassi has opened up about the joys and challenges of family life. In an interview from October, she expressed her love for being a wife and mother but also acknowledged the difficulties that come with raising children.
Stassi shared that she would love to have more kids if she had the financial means and help to support a large family. “I’d love to have more kids if I was just insanely wealthy and had the most amount of help ever,” Stassi said during an appearance on the Disrespectfully podcast. She added that, ideally, she’d love a “really big family” with Beau.
Despite having help with her kids, Stassi often reflects on the struggles faced by single parents. She admitted that while she’s fortunate to have a supportive husband and childcare help, she sometimes feels overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood. “I think, ‘There are people that are just doing this alone. Alone,’” Stassi remarked, showcasing her deep empathy for those in more challenging situations.
