Square Enix has started its latest fiscal year on a strong financial note, reporting a major increase in operating profit for the three months ending June 2026. According to the company’s latest financial report, Square Enix’s operating profit reached ¥17.008 billion, representing an 88.6% year-over-year increase.
The company’s Digital Entertainment business was the biggest contributor to the improvement. Net sales in the games segment increased 51.8%, while operating profit climbed 91.8% compared with the same period last year.

Square Enix specifically highlighted the strong performance of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales as key contributors to its game business during the quarter. Final Fantasy XIV also continued contributing to the company’s results, adding strength across its established portfolio.
The results give Square Enix a positive start to the fiscal year as it prepares to release more games and updated versions of existing titles. The company has several projects planned for Nintendo Switch 2, including Final Fantasy Resonance, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, Final Fantasy VII Remake projects and additional releases from the Dragon Quest, Octopath Traveler and Kingdom Hearts franchises.
The strong quarterly figures also come as Square Enix continues its broader effort to improve the profitability of its games business.
