Bandai Namco Entertainment America has officially released Digimon Story Time Stranger for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, bringing the newest entry in the long-running RPG series to Nintendo players. Developed by h.a.n.d., Inc., the game is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Positioned as an accessible entry point for newcomers while offering plenty of content for longtime fans, Digimon Story Time Stranger combines a story-driven adventure with strategic turn-based combat and monster collection mechanics. Players can recruit, train, and evolve more than 450 Digimon while exploring both the Human World and the Digital World in a narrative that spans multiple timelines.
A New Digimon Adventure Across Time and Two Worlds
In Digimon Story Time Stranger, players assume the role of an ADAMAS agent who becomes caught in a crisis threatening both the Human World and the Digital World. As the two realities edge toward destruction, players must build relationships with Digimon companions and uncover the mystery behind the world-altering event.
The RPG emphasizes collecting, taming, and evolving Digimon, allowing players to strengthen their partners while assembling teams for strategic, turn-based battles. Traveling between worlds—and even across time—forms a central part of the adventure, with Bandai Namco describing the game as an ideal starting point for RPG players discovering the Digimon franchise for the first time.
Nintendo Switch 2 players also benefit from enhanced performance options. The game supports Quality Mode, offering 4K HDR at up to 30 FPS while docked and Full HD at up to 30 FPS in handheld mode. Those prioritizing smoother gameplay can switch to Performance Mode, which delivers Full HD at up to 60 FPS in both docked and handheld configurations.
