Giving it a try, Solar went on to pass the audition and became a trainee at the company in 2011. Leaving the hospitality training in between, Solar went on to join Modern K Music Academy University. Specializing in vocals, the idol went on to train for over three years. Teaming up with fellow members, i.e., Hwasa, Moonbyeol, and Wheein, Solar went on to make her debut with MAMAMOO as the leader.

With her successful girl group career going on, Solar went on to release a solo mini-album titled ‘Solar’s Emotions’ consisting of song covers. In April 2020, the idol went on to make her official solo debut with the single “Spit It Out,” along with a live performance on Mnet’s Countdown stage. The single went on to cross the sales record of over 84,568, along with reaching #2 on the Korean music charts and #6 on US Charts. Taking her time after success, Solar came back with her first EP titled ‘Face’ on March 16, 2022. Crossing the sales of over 49,869 within a week, the album reached #7 on the Korean music charts.
Solar has also given her voice to the k-drama soundtracks as well. Her OST list includes Twenty Again’s Star (ft Kim Min Jae), Run On’s Blue Bird, Vincenzo’s Adrenaline, Lovers of The Red Sky’s Always Be With You, and School 2021’s Winter Flower.
