The ex-polygamist family will soon return to television with another episode of their show Sister Wives. Things have certainly started to get much more personal for the Brown family as Sukanya interviews each of them, one on one.
The interview has so far provided many insights as to exactly what was going on in the family behind the scenes. Sister Wives was first seen way back in September 2010. Strangely enough, that was the time people began to know about Polygamy and various groups that perform as a cult or tradition.
Kody Brown is a part of such a family, where he was the husband to four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn. The series aimed to increase awareness about such a taboo topic while showing everyone that their family functioned just as another normal family would.
In the beginning, the show did provide an interesting perspective on Polygamy, but as newer seasons came out, the ties between the members seemed to be getting worse. Kody Brown began favoring Robyn over other wives, and although he and Robyn both deny it, it’s quite apparent through the interviews and episodes. Christine Brown divorced him last year, and this year, Janelle ended up separating from him.
Sister Wives Season 17: About The Wives
When the show first started airing on television, all four of the wives had good relationships on screen, and would Kody would often divide the time he’d spend with each wife. Over the years, though, Kody and Robyn grew closer while the rest of the wives were left with platonic relationships.
The family has about 18 kids, and most of them are old enough to have their children. Kody recently became a grandfather as well, but things seem to be heading downhill for his polygamist life as there’s high tension in the relationship he has with the wives.
Things are not the same for the Brown family now that Christine and Janelle both have decided to separate from the group. Christine has even sold off the land she has in Coyote Pass and aims to start a new life with her children.
Janelle’s kids were old now, and she decided to start living with her kids without Kody being there. This independence has caused Kody to reevaluate his life, but he’s still unable to look beyond his feelings. It’s uncertain what would happen to the family that once wanted to be an example for everyone else.
Sister Wives Season 17 Episode 16: Summary
In the episode of January 1st, 2023, We’ll see the crew gearing up for an interview with Sukanya. This was going to be a One on One interview. Since Christine had split at the time of the filming of the interview, things were still inflamed between the other members.
Sukanya questions them about the comparisons that were made, about the relationship they ended up having, and also the reason behind the divorce. Christine had made up her mind to leave Kody once he began treating her as a friend and not a wife. Robyn is asked if she’s her favorite wife, but she fails to answer it.
Janelle also talks about the way the polygamist faith has divorce, which involves going to Church and following a procedure that would normally not exist outside the faith and in Law. Janelle supports Christine’s decision and hopes she can find what she’s looking for. Kody expresses his anger at the way Christine chose to do things that put his other relationships at risk.
