Shibatarian Chapter 2 Recap
Sato and Shibata finally reunite after five years. They had a lot to catch up on, so Shibata decided to take Sato to the theatres to watch a movie, just like in the old times. Once the movie was done, both of them had different opinions on how the movie was. Shibata tells Sato that he hated the movie because it had a happy ending, and he hates happy endings.
This raises doubt in Sato. The Shibata he was friends with told him that he hates movies that do not have happy endings. He asks Shibata who he really is, and Shibata tells him that he is himself. He reminds Sato of the movie plot he came up with five years back, the one where the whole world would turn into Shibata. He tells Sato that the movie title would be Shibatarian, and as the lights turn on, Sato discovers that the entire theatre is filled with many Shibatas.
He immediately wakes up screaming. Michika Watari, his other friend from school, was caring for him. She told him that she had received many missed calls from Sato, and when she went outside, she saw him passed out in the lobby. As Watari makes breakfast for Sato, he tells her about his encounter with Shibata, which he thinks was a bad dream. Watari also remarks that she never saw Shibata back in school and only believed Sato because he did not seem like he was lying.
There was news about consecutive kidnappings on the news channel of the TV. Suddenly, the doorbell rings, and it was none other than Shibata. Sato immediately ties him up and asks him if he was behind all those kidnappings. Shibata sneezes, and something falls from his mouth. When Sato examines it, he sees a small head that looks like Shibata’s face. That small head became bigger and turned into another Shibato. As time passed, more Shibatos kept coming.
Sato and Watari somehow manage to escape and are saved by a police officer. That officer was none other than Yoshida, who was the former soccer team captain. He takes them to a safe spot for them to hide from Shibata. The building Yoshida took them to was filled with Shibata, and this was just a trap set to catch them. Shibata paid Yoshida for bringing them to him.
When Yoshida began walking away, Shibata decapitated him. He showed Sato and Watari the decapitated heads of all the students from the school. This was the original plot of the movie they made up five years ago. They would kill all the students in their school, and finally, Sato ends the villain who was Shibata.
