Shadow is an ongoing horror thriller Thai BL Drama, which is just perfect to binge this spooky season. Fans all over the world are getting obsessed with the drama because of its terrific cinematography and thrilling story. The drama was released on the first day of Halloween as a VIU original series.
Shadow follows the story of four high school students discovering and uncovering the hidden truth in the suspicious school of the town. The story is set in 1999 when Dan, the main lead, an eleventh-grade student, just transferred to Saint Lawrence, which is an all-boys school.
Dan had a very tough childhood. His mother died when he was just seven, and his father is most of the time ill. When he transferred to Saint Lawrence, his father was under treatment at a nearby hospital. One thing peculiar about Dan is that he sees weird shadows in his dream that would try to suffocate him and kill him.
Brother Anurak, who was the dean of the school, was close to Dan, and that was the reason he joined the school so that Anurak could treat his sleep paralysis.
However, things get more weird when Dan, on his first day, sits on Trin’s desk. Trin was actually lost in the lake behind the school, and therefore, other students didn’t dare to get close to his seat.
Eventually, Dan gets close to his classmate Nai and roommate Josh. The trio then met Cha-aim, who came to their school to give a performance at their annual function. As the four get together and talk about the mystery behind Trin’s disappearance and Dan’s dreams, they soon realize both are interconnected, and they must stop it.
Recap
The previous episode of Shadow left viewers with many questions. The last episode started off with Anan and Dan being lost in the fun house. Both were confused and trembling in fear the more they explored the funhouse. Then suddenly, Anan sees Trin’s reflection in the mirror.
Whereas Dan also experiences the same, he sees Trin’s reflection. Someone was following them both, but they could not catch him. Finally, when they escaped, Anna started punching Dan, thinking he was the one who pranked him. Both were called to the principal office, but no one believed what they saw.
Even brother Anurak tells Dan that now he doesn’t have trouble sleeping; therefore, he is hallucinating things. Anurak asks him to bring his dream journal for his next session. Dan was returning to his dorm when he was called by Nai from behind. Nai apologizes to him for his plan and for all the fuss.
As usual, Dan has a weird dream. He finds himself in one of the happiest moments he spent with his parents, but the shadow is trying to grab him from behind. He talked to the shadow and asked him to leave him for a few seconds. Dan can actually feel the shadow as an integral part of his dreams.
By the end of the episode, Dan feels himself attracted toward the lake behind the school. He follows the shadow, and by the shore of the river, he sees Trin, who handed over a wooden ring kind of thing to Dan and disappears. Before Dan could flinch and turn back, he was attacked by Anna, who started blowing punches on him.
