Seal Team, the action series by Paramount+, has had a few seasons and its productions, ups, and downs. The Emmy Award-nominee series starring David Boreanaz won’t have a release as expected, it’s delayed up until fall, and we are here to explain to you the reasons why.
One of the shows hit by the script writer’s strike that shocked the world of scripted television was Paramount+’s original series Seal Team. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to talking about Seal Team season 7’s potential release date. Since there’s a lot to unpack, we’re going to start right now.
What Is Seal Team?
The Navy SEALs’ most elite unit is the subject of the military drama SEAL Team, which follows their professional and personal lives as they prepare for, organize, and carry out the riskiest, highest-stakes missions our nation can ask of them. The Tier One team’s respected and intense leader, Jason Hayes, has noticed a decline in his personal life as a result of his extensive warrior lifestyle. Ray Perry, the longest-serving operator on his team and a close confidant of Jason’s, Sonny Quinn, an exceptional soldier with a troubled past who still battles self-destructive tendencies, and Clay Spenser, a SEAL from newer generations with amazing drive, round out his team.
Trooper commander Lieutenant Commander Eric Blackburn acts as a mentor and confidant both on and off the battlefield, CIA analyst Mandy Ellis gave up everything in her quest to root out evil and kill terrorists, and Ensign Lisa Davis, a no-nonsense officer who takes charge, is essential to the team’s success. This military special operations team exemplifies and exalts patriotism and relentlessness, no matter the situation. Each season, the commandos are deployed on nearly impossible missions, and the series goes to great lengths to show us how those deployments affect them and their families.

Was Seal Team Renewed?
After six action-packed and drama-filled seasons, the Paramount+ military drama was renewed for a seventh season by its parent production company; initially, the show was expected to land in the first days of March 2023, after season six concluded in November 2022.
But the Writer’s Guild went on strike for 100 days, and that impacted the script development for the David Boreanaz series. After the strike, the writers went back to work, churned out the scripts, and filming was expected to commence in May 2023 of a ten-episode season which implies a short post-production time.
Seal Team Season 7 Release Date
While the Paramount+ drama Seal Team’s seventh season was confirmed, the Writer’s Guild strike caused a delay on the expected March 2023 release date. By March, the series didn’t even have any scripts. But after the conclusion of the strike, the cast and crew went into filming and production in May 2023.
How Many Episodes Will Seal Team Season 7 Have?
Previous seasons of Seal Team have had as many as twenty-two episodes per season; even with COVID, that season had twenty episodes, but since that year, the length of episodes per season has been on a steady decline.
Since there’s no official release date for Seal Team season seven’s ten episodes, we could expect that the probable season for this program’s release is sometime in Fall 2023 in a consistent weekly release format which tends to increase ratings ahead of a possible eighth season. We’ll keep an eye out for any updates, and when Paramount+ makes an official announcement, we’ll let you know.
