AHAVERSE has announced a major expansion of the Scissor Seven franchise, revealing a slate of new projects that stretches far beyond the acclaimed animated series. During the company’s “New World Premiere” showcase at BilibiliWorld 2026, fans got their first look at a feature film, a brand-new animated spin-off, an original mobile game, a publishing initiative, and even a live music event inspired by the franchise.
The announcement marks one of the biggest milestones for Scissor Seven since the series debuted in 2018. Rather than focusing solely on new anime seasons, AHAVERSE is building what it describes as a long-term entertainment ecosystem where fans can experience the world through multiple formats, including animation, games, books, and live events.
The company also reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the franchise globally. Scissor Seven has already become one of China’s most internationally recognized animated properties, streaming in more than 190 countries as the first Chinese original animation to become a Netflix Original. According to AHAVERSE, the franchise has surpassed 40 million fans worldwide and accumulated over 30 billion views across platforms.
Scissor Seven movie heads to theaters in 2027
Leading the announcements is Scissor Seven – The Movie, a new animated theatrical feature currently in production.
The film takes Seven into the mysterious martial arts kingdom of Xuanwu, where rival factions threaten the region. As conflict escalates, Seven must confront difficult questions about power, ambition, reputation, and what truly gives life meaning.
AHAVERSE is targeting a global theatrical release in 2027, making the feature film the next major chapter in the franchise’s story.
Scissor Seven spin-off series HEIBAI introduces a new generation of heroes
The Scissor Seven universe will also grow through HEIBAI, a new animated spin-off series set before the events of the original anime.
Instead of following Seven, the story centers on Mo Lang and Bai Qi, two young heroes whose adventure begins after slaying a dragon before evolving into a larger tale of friendship, personal growth, and challenges that shape the wider world.
HEIBAI is currently scheduled to premiere in China during Q1 2027, while international release details will be announced separately.
Mobile game brings original adventures to players

Gaming is another major part of AHAVERSE’s expansion strategy.
The company confirmed that an official Scissor Seven action-adventure mobile game is in development. Rather than simply retelling existing stories, the game will feature original adventures, allowing players to reunite with familiar characters while exploring new scenarios filled with the series’ signature humor and fast-paced action.
The title is currently planned to launch in China during Q4 2026, with global release plans expected to be shared at a later date.
AHABOOKS expands storytelling beyond animation
To support long-term worldbuilding, AHAVERSE officially introduced AHABOOKS, a new publishing and story development initiative focused on original creators and expanding the company’s growing collection of intellectual properties.
The first project under the publishing label is Cheap-Life Hua, a Scissor Seven spin-off manhua centered on the fan-favorite character Hua. Presented in collected tankobon format, the series will further explore stories from the expanding universe, with the first volume scheduled for release in Q1 2027.
AHAVERSE will also release a special AHABOOKS 2026 Commemorative Issue, which debuts during BilibiliWorld 2026 before becoming available through additional distribution channels.
Chicken Island Party brings the franchise into the real world
Beyond animation and publishing, AHAVERSE is introducing Chicken Island Party, a new annual live music experience inspired by Scissor Seven.
Rather than recreating the anime’s soundtrack, the event will feature fresh musical interpretations, remixes, and live performances designed to celebrate the franchise in an entirely new way while bringing fans together.
Explaining the company’s broader vision, AHAVERSE Founder and Chief IP Officer Aiken Zou said:
“Today is not about announcing a collection of separate projects. It is about showing how stories can grow into worlds, through new characters, new adventures, and new creative voices. Our goal is to give global audiences more worlds to return to, while creating opportunities for creators to help shape the stories of tomorrow.”
AHAVERSE confirmed that additional details about each project will be shared through its official channels over the coming months.
