Konami has officially confirmed that Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will launch on Nintendo Switch on October 15, 2026, putting an end to uncertainty surrounding the platform’s release.
The announcement means Switch players will receive the game on the same day as PlayStation, Xbox, and PC users after earlier marketing had only listed a vague 2026 release window for Nintendo’s console. The release date was confirmed by Konami and Evil Empire.
Nintendo Switch version avoids a delayed launch
Last month, Konami announced October 15, 2026, as the release date for most platforms but stopped short of confirming the same launch day for Nintendo Switch. That omission led many fans to wonder whether the hybrid console version would be delayed.
The latest announcement clears up those concerns, confirming that the Switch edition will launch simultaneously with the other versions. While Nintendo Switch 2 will not receive a native version at launch, the game will be playable on the new console through backward compatibility.
A new Belmont adventure heads to Paris
Set in 1499, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse follows the successor to Trevor Belmont as monstrous creatures invade Paris. Wielding the legendary Vampire Killer whip, players will battle through dangerous environments filled with traps, puzzles, hidden chambers, and powerful enemies.

The game expands on classic Castlevania gameplay by placing greater emphasis on whip mechanics, allowing players to swing through environments and chain together fast-paced attacks. Alongside the signature whip, players can utilize a variety of weapons and abilities to overcome increasingly difficult encounters.
Konami and Evil Empire have also introduced a colorful new visual style while preserving the gothic atmosphere the franchise is known for. Longtime fans can also expect familiar series staples, including hidden collectibles, challenging exploration, and memorable boss battles.
With its Nintendo Switch release now officially locked in for October 15, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is set to launch simultaneously across all announced platforms, giving Nintendo players access to the latest entry without any additional wait.
