EA Sports FC 26 may be attracting far more players than publicly available PC statistics suggest. According to football gaming YouTuber Nate Miller, better known as TheFutAccountant, an EA developer told him the game recently reached 9.8 million daily active users, a figure that dwarfs the player counts visible on Steam.
While the claim has not been officially confirmed by Electronic Arts, it highlights the difference between publicly available platform data and a game’s total audience across consoles and multiple PC storefronts.
Steam Numbers Reportedly Show Only Part of the Picture
In a recent YouTube video, Miller discussed SteamCharts data showing a 24-hour peak of approximately 122,000 concurrent Steam players. He explained that the figure prompted a laugh from an EA developer, who allegedly shared a much larger internal statistic.
Miller said:
“That Steam number of players is so small… 9.8m daily active users was the peak number that was hit in this last month.”
He added that the milestone was reportedly reached during late June or July.
According to Miller, the majority of EA Sports FC 26 players are on consoles, while PC users are split between Steam and the EA App, meaning Steam statistics alone cannot accurately reflect the game’s total player base.
He also claimed that around 800,000 players were recently active in the game’s Clubs mode, further illustrating the scale of the community.
The reported surge in activity coincides with football’s global momentum following the FIFA World Cup, while EA also introduced World Cup-themed content and Ultimate Team promotions that encouraged players to return.
Although Electronic Arts has not officially verified the reported 9.8 million daily active users, the claim suggests EA Sports FC 26 continues to be one of the world’s most-played sports games across multiple platforms.
