“Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan” has been renewed for Season 5 by Nickelodeon. The kids’ comedy series, set to begin production on July 8 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Ga., will consist of 13 episodes. Season 5 will premiere later in 2024, starting with a holiday episode.
The storyline will focus on Dylan and his cousin Rebecca as they aim to grow their hip-hop record label, while the Wilson family details Dylan’s aspirations for mogul status.
Tyler Perry expressed his excitement about the renewal of “Young Dylan,” emphasizing its appeal as a fun series for families.
The show will continue to explore the Wilson family dynamics and Dylan’s journey towards achieving his dreams. Alongside Dylan Gilmer, the cast includes Hero Hunter, Jet Miller, Mieko Hillman, Aloma Lesley Wright, and Carl Anthony Payne II. Perry serves as executive producer, with Mark E. Swinton and Will Areu as producers.
“Young Dylan” made a strong debut in February 2020, achieving the highest ratings for a series premiere on Nickelodeon since 2017.
Its fourth season began in fall 2023, continuing its popularity with viewers. Tyler Perry, busy with various projects, is notably premiering the thriller “Divorce in the Black” on July 11 on Amazon Prime Video.
The film stars Meagan Good as a young bank professional battling for her freedom against her husband.
