Kim Zolciak and her ex-husband, Kroy Biermann, have decided to list their renowned mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia, for sale. With seven bedrooms, the expansive mansion is currently advertised for $6 million. According to the Zillow description, the property has an amazing 11 baths spread across 1.78 acres of land.
The features and amenities of this brick-and-stone estate include a heated pool, a home theater, billiard and arcade rooms, a fitness center with a private massage room, and a temperature-controlled walk-in wine cellar that holds up to 500 bottles.
Just one year after getting married in 2012, Zolciak and Biermann bought the house. Their kids lived in the house: 12-year-old Kroy “KJ” Jagger Jr., 11-year-old Kash, and 9-year-old twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren. Furthermore, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, Kim’s two elder daughters from a prior relationship, were both lawfully adopted by Kroy.
Zolciak and Biermann are headed for divorce
The choice to list the property for sale was made soon after Biermann filed for divorce from Zolciak about two months ago. They’ve thought about terminating their 12-year marriage before; in May, they agreed to file for a formal divorce but later chose to get back together in July.
The couple had defaulted on a $1.56 million loan they had taken out in October 2012, and Fulton County had sent out a notice in February stating that the property was in danger of going into foreclosure. Truist Bank intended to put the property up for public auction as a result.
According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, Zolciak was telling everyone that they were trying to sort things out and that it was all just a misunderstanding. Speaking with TMZ, Brielle and Ariana denied the reports as well. Even though the issue was ultimately handled, an insider told PEOPLE that their relationship problems were partly caused by money problems.
Money issues are separating the couple
The insider made it clear that there was no cheating on either side and that although money problems played a big part in their breakup, there were other reasons as well. According to the source, Kroy had been running the family for a while, so in a sense he had a job, but their relationship was tense right now and they were not on good terms.
Biermann filed a lawsuit in August to have the only right to sell their family’s house without needing Zolciak’s consent. Court records that PEOPLE was able to get indicate that the pair saw the sale as a way to pay off “significant debt”. Despite the fact that the police had previously been called to their home, a source confirmed in early October that the two were still living on the same property.
The insider stressed that their current problem was mainly a financial disagreement, calling it a “money war,” and that the ex-couple had no plans to make amends or get back together.
