Mia and Shawna’s LA dreams might be shattered, but that doesn’t mean their rapping career is over yet. While Francois continues to ghost the girls after the Def Jam meeting, Chastity’s going to do her best to get an A&R rep’s attention.
HBO Max’s comedy-drama Rap Sh!t is an Issa Rae show that revolves around two women from Miami who dream of becoming successful rappers one day. Mia and Shawna used to be best friends until they left High school. Now in Miami, at the same time, and both hitting rock bottom of their lives, the duo decides to give their dreams a chance.
Most of the cast members from season 1 of Rap Sh!t will be returning in the new season, including Aida Osman as Shawna, KaMillion in the role of Mia Knight, Jonica Booth plays Chastity, and RJ Cyler as Lamont Diggs. Maurice’s role is portrayed by Daniel Augustin, while Jaboukie Young White plays Francois.
Rap Sh!t Season 2 Episode 6: Recap
After AK had immolated himself on the balcony at the Billboard party, Mia and Shawna’s tour was canceled. Deja and the other girls are scared that Chastity will be mad at them for not doing business properly and attracting the attention of the motel owner.
Just as they expected, Chastity’s angry at the way Deja handled the women and got them kicked out of the motel. Moreover, they would no longer be able to practice business in the area because Chastity’s competitor, Bugs, had sent them many death threats.
At Mia’s house, Shawna is disappointed to come back to Miami without completing the tour they were looking forward to. Francois lets Shawna know that they are yet to receive a message from the Def Jam executive. The meeting with the executive at the Billboard party had gone well, so they’re confused to see no follow-up since then.
Mia’s friends, including Alesia, show up at her house for the night. Alesia starts making rude jokes about AK, and this causes Shawna to have a panic attack. She was already feeling guilty and somehow responsible for what happened to AK; Alesia’s comments were only making things worse.
Shawna decides to leave Mia’s house and heads to Maurice’s home. The reconciliation works out, and the duo have a great time with each other, talking about the past, present, and everything else. Shawna decides to stay at Maurice’s home for a while, but after Stanley suddenly shows up, her time here is cut short.
Stanley’s mad at Maurice for hanging out with Shawna and lets her know that he was recording all her calls. Shawna is heartbroken to hear this and goes back to Mia’s house, where Mia consoles her.
Things with Bugs get out of hand when he beats Chastity up and leaves her with bruises and a nosebleed. Uncle Calvin decides to deal with this matter on his own, taking Chastity to Bugs area. He then shoots Bugs despite Chastity telling him not to do anything rash.

The rapping duo will be returning with a new episode on December 14th, 2023. All-new episodes of this HBO rap series are released on Thursdays, with a single episode lasting for a total of 30-35 minutes.

After being beaten up by Bugs, Chastity decides to change the way she moves forward and meets up with an A&R representative. Hoping to get Mia and Shawna a good record deal, Chastity will be working overtime to get things going well for all of them.
