The premise for Gotham Knights involves the titular city where their best defender, Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, has died. The story picks up amidst the aftermath of Bruce Wayne’s death. The synopsis for this show reads, “Bruce Wayne is murdered, his adopted son forges an alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies, the city becomes more dangerous. However, mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors, known as the Gotham Knights.”
The premise is incredibly intriguing as the children of Batman’s most prominent nemeses are caught up in a tangle of conspiracy, framing, and a whole lot of chaos. The idea is to introduce a ragtag bunch of misfits and throw them at the center of chaos and crime and conspiracy. These young adults, who are now the targets of all authorities in Gotham, will have to don the cape themselves and defend the city against a post-Batman underworld of crime.
