The presidential transitional committee has been set up as an act of the new government of South Korea. They are tasked with discussing and helping policies transition to fit the new agenda of the government. The committee has appointed Shin Yong-Hyeon as its senior spokesperson.
Presidential committee to meet CEOs
Following the presidential transitional committee’s visit to HYBE labels on April 2nd. The transition committee of the president-elect has arranged to connect with the CEOs of JYP, SM, and HYBE labels on 4th April, 3 p.m KST. The CEO of MNH entertainment is also to be present at the assembly. Further, The independent association of music is also stationing their representatives to be part of the meeting.
In the previous meeting, the committee discussed the norms and exceptions regarding the compulsory military service of Korean male idols. Following this, there still hasn’t been a clear resolution on the status of BTS’s military enlistment. They have put the topic on hold at the moment. The major focus of today’s issue is to debate and establish how to improve the Korean music scene and further strengthen its global presence.
Meeting Agenda:
Building the necessary infrastructure to aid popular music is one of the main topics that has secured a spot on today’s agenda. They are aiming to scrutinize the industry. And then, proceed to decide how the powerhouses of K-POP can assist further growth. Globalization of Korean music is at the core of their objectives. They wish to execute this mammoth task by adopting a more practical approach.
Apart from developing a practical plan of action for the further enhancement of Korea’s global presence. The committee also wishes to discuss certain aspects that are more inclined toward the legal and administrative side of the industry that is necessary. Upliftment and support of popular music are obtaining specific attention and are key areas under review.
All these discussions ultimately boil down to one key agenda. Primarily, it aims to discuss necessary infrastructure and administrative changes that might have to take place. All these improvements are necessary for the industry before its next big leap.
