Phantom Blade Zero has reached a new milestone on Steam, recording a peak of 833,921 concurrent players, according to SteamDB. The achievement makes S-Game’s action RPG the highest-peaking single-player game on Steam in 2026 so far, highlighting the growing international appeal of major releases from Chinese developers.

The game has attracted considerable attention since launch, supported by its fast-paced combat, martial arts-inspired setting, and cinematic presentation. Its early reception has also been encouraging, with the game earning an 88 average score on Metacritic and a Very Positive rating from Steam users.

Although S-Game has not publicly confirmed its sales figures, the concurrent player count provides a clear indication of the game’s strong launch engagement on PC.

Phantom Blade Zero Sets a New Single-Player Steam Record in 2026

The updated figure puts Phantom Blade Zero ahead of its earlier reported peak of 723,647 players. With 833,921 concurrent users, the game has strengthened its position among the year’s biggest PC launches. Unlike multiplayer-focused releases, S-GAME’s title is listed on Steam as a single-player experience, making its player milestone particularly notable.

The game launched on October 28, 2026, and quickly climbed Steam’s player charts. Its setting blends traditional wuxia storytelling with fast-paced action, while its Unreal Engine 5 presentation has helped it stand out among recent action RPG releases. Players take control of Soul, a warrior with only 66 days left to live, as he confronts assassins and uncovers conspiracies.

Phantom Blade Zero takes players through the Phantom World, featuring atmospheric environments inspired by Chinese wuxia fantasy.

Phantom Blade Zero has also received a positive response from players. Steam currently lists its user reviews as Very Positive, while its Metacritic score stands at 88. These early reception figures, alongside the growing concurrent player peak, suggest that the game has made a strong impression beyond its initial launch-day attention.

S-GAME has yet to publish official sales figures, so the Steam milestone should not be treated as a direct measure of copies sold. It does, however, demonstrate the scale of interest on PC. The game is also available on PlayStation 5, meaning its Steam numbers represent only one part of its audience.

The achievement adds to the growing international visibility of Chinese-developed games. With 833,921 players recorded at its current Steam peak, Phantom Blade Zero has become one of 2026’s most significant single-player launches.
