Warner Bros. Games has officially confirmed that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 18, 2026. The announcement marks a major step in expanding the game’s reach, with pre-orders now available for both Standard and Deluxe editions.
Alongside the release date, the publisher also revealed new downloadable content arriving on the same day, featuring iconic DC villains and additional gameplay modes.
Switch 2 Release Brings the Full LEGO Batman Experience
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is set to deliver the complete open-world experience already available on other platforms. Developed by TT Games, the title follows Bruce Wayne’s journey from his early days to becoming Gotham’s legendary protector.
The game blends storytelling inspired by decades of Batman films, comics, and TV shows with the signature humor and creativity of LEGO titles. Players will explore Gotham City, unlock suits and vehicles, and encounter a wide range of DC characters throughout the campaign.
Pre-orders are currently open, with the Standard Edition priced at $69.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $89.99.
Joker and Harley Quinn Headline New DLC Content
One of the biggest highlights of the announcement is the Mayhem Collection DLC, which will launch alongside the Switch 2 version. This expansion introduces a new Mayhem Mode and allows players to take control of The Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters.
The DLC also includes a new story mission, additional character suits, Batcave upgrades, and a new Batmobile. These additions aim to expand the gameplay experience beyond the main campaign, offering more variety and replay value for players.
The Mayhem Collection will be available not just on Switch 2, but also on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, ensuring a simultaneous rollout across platforms.
What Comes With the Deluxe Edition
Players opting for the Deluxe Edition will gain access to both the Legacy Collection and the Mayhem Collection DLC packs. These include a wide range of bonus content such as new suits inspired by the Batman: Arkham series, Batman Beyond, and other DC properties.
Additional items include Batcave decorations, themed packs, and new vehicles, giving players more customization options. Physical editions will also include a LEGO Retro Batman minifigure, available while supplies last.
All pre-orders, regardless of edition, will receive The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit as an in-game bonus at launch, adding another fan-favorite cosmetic to the lineup.
Extra Rewards Through LEGO Sets and Account Linking
Warner Bros. Games is also tying the game to physical LEGO products. Select LEGO DC Batman sets will unlock exclusive in-game rewards, including gold variants of suits and vehicles.
Players can also unlock additional outfits, such as the Golden Age Batsuit, by creating or linking a Warner Bros. Games account. Further rewards tied to HBO Max integration include themed suits inspired by DC properties, adding another layer of cross-platform engagement.
