Braham Eshwald is the cleverest of his kind, but one day, one certain day, he fell into deep thought, in search of knowing what really is the Curse of Idleness. A curse placed on us by the god Yatan because of the overwhelming strength and selfish desires of humans. Because of this curse, all empires become existences that hate working, only putting in the bare minimum amount of effort to complete their work and sleeping most of the day away.

Although he understands all of these facts he is finding the “reason” behind all these, and why Yatan did this, in the first place. The god Yatan who craved destruction had only one desire, the desire being the “Complete Destruction of all Existence” blessed by the goddess of light, Rebecca.

In order to do so, he needed races with overwhelming strength and cruelty. Vampires who fit that bill perfectly were powerful beings who could do Yatan’s bidding. So why did Yatan place a curse solely on us to seal their powers, when the great demons have no such restriction!! This difference in treatment is unacceptable, and he smells something unusual.

Braham searched every place that had remnants of the past in order to look for clues about the god Yatan. Only after a staggering 483 years of research did he discover a single truth. “Yatan’s Destructive Tendencies” only manifest during a certain period of time.

The period is when the conflict between humans whose selfish desires have reached their peak unleash chaos unto the world. This means that when the goddess Rebecca no longer has any dominion over the world, and when Yatan comes forth and destroyed the world, Rebecca creates a new one.

The equilibrium o the world is because of Rebecca and Yatan, while the two gods seem to be enemies on the surface… they are actually cooperating with each other. This was very frustrating Braham, as they show the people that they are enemies, and because of that even now, their creation resents and slaughters the other!

They were designed this way in order to dance on the palms of these gods! he dare still call yourself their god after doing this to them, Yatan. Braham’s faith was shattered. He threw his body, which to his was no different than that of a corpse, on the ground. His will to live broke under the weight of his uncontrollable rage and contempt, as the dirt began covering his form, he came to a certain realization.

The main question now is, why Yatan’s progenitor Beriache, who used to be a great demon herself, had been exiled from hell to the human world, and her mother had also discovered Yatan’s true identity. There is no way someone as proud as her would have simply let this pass, and she must have been inflicted with the curse of idleness and banished to the human world for criticizing Yatan.

Are the great demons trying to protect their own place in the system by defending their god? To be willing to give up their ability to advance, are no more than mere puppets.

Beriache, his progenitor was the great demon of “Predation”, this trait of hers was passed down to the vampires. Among them, Braham especially held a predatory carving for knowledge. Thanks to the curse of idleness, however, he spent the majority of his time sleeping, which means that was realistically impossible to satisfy that craving. On the other hand, Braham thinks that he is different or and if not, he must be different.

He believes that in this World of Equilibrium, they are not more than the weight of one side of the scale, and the Yatan doesn’t deserve to have the label of god. He wanted to overcome this curse Yatan laid upon him, in order to become a free existence by accumulating immeasurable amounts of knowledge, and there exists no god out there that he must serve.

Brahan broke the existence of his life all on his own, after that day, he started investigating all academic magic fields over the curse of several hundred years. He immersed himself in magic experimentation, using various specimens. Even as many as those specimens were sacrificed, his thirst for knowledge only grew exponentially right up to the day when he, at last, Braham experimented on his own species.

Later in the chapter, we see Braham’s mother Beriache arrives, she is the great demon of the predation of the progenitor of the vampires, who are supposed to be awakened in 50 years since Yatan had personally inflicted the curse on her.

She says to him that he broke the taboo of harming his own species. He thinks that he only did so in order to state his hunger for knowledge, though no matter what he says, he has a doubt that his mother will never forgive him. He also noticed wrinkles on the face of her mother, but more importantly, he can barely feel her life force, because his mother is dying.

Although she is supposed to be immortal magic power that completely surpasses his mother’s there is no doubt his mother’s life is low because she poured everything into birthing an existence that would surpass her, and concludes that they are none other than “The Tenth Sibling”.

Overgeared Chapter 163 Spoilers

In order to stop Braham from doing all this mess, his mother gave the perfectly fine name, “Marie Rose” to use, his sister, and says that she already warned him that if a predatory species like theirs began harming each other, then the situation would become something unsalvageable, and added that was it not enough that he harmed his own kind while she was asleep, now he trying to kill one of his own siblings that too in front of her eyes.

As the progenitor, she has no choice but to do this in order to stop the worst-case scenario from happening, although she trusted Braham and believed that he will understand, he didn’t. Then she orders Rose to punish him so that he will become an example for those who dare to break the taboo.

On that day, when Braham screamed from the horrific pain as the young Marie Rose sucked all of his blood, he lost his immortality and was exiled from his tribe. For the next 100 years, Braham continued his magic research whilst disguising himself as a human. He eventually managed to overcome his curse of idleness, what stopped him this time, however, was his finite lifespan.

Braham needed to reclaim his immortality in order to feast on more knowledge. He even managed to earn the title of “Great Magician” during his decades-long search for immortality, and though Braham did not manage to complete his immortality magic, he did not despair.

This was because he had managed to complete the next best thing… the thing is “Resurrection Magic”. Now, in the present, Braham had found the human who would be able to make his dream come true.
