Outlander Season 7 Episode 2 Recap
Alan, who has been staying in the woods, confesses to Claire that he killed Malva because she was carrying Ian’s child. Alan had hoped Malva would falsely claim the child was Jamie’s to extort money from him. When Malva expresses her love for Claire and refuses to go along with Alan’s plan, he slits her throat. Claire manages to stop Alan from killing himself, but Ian, seeking justice for Malva, shoots and kills Alan.
Meanwhile, Brianna gives birth to a baby girl named Amanda Claire Hope. Claire notices a health issue with Amanda’s heart, diagnosed as patent ductus arteriosus, which requires surgery. However, Claire is not a heart surgeon, leaving the family with a difficult decision. They consider traveling to the future for medical help, but the risks are too high for the baby.
In their quest to find a solution, the family plans to travel to the stone circle on Ocracoke. Claire expresses her desire to fix Amanda’s condition but acknowledges her limitations as a surgeon. Jamie suggests they pray for the baby’s safety.
On their journey, they stop in Wilmington, where Brianna meets Lord John and his son, William Ransom. Brianna believes William deserves to know the truth about Jamie being his biological father, but Lord John insists he is the only father William has known. Brianna also mentions her love for Frank, her deceased adoptive father, demonstrating that her affection for him remains unchanged.
Jaime visits Lord John and discusses William’s decision to join the army. Jaime shares that he swore never to fight alongside the British army again, and Lord John hands him a chance that he has kept for 20 years, intending it for Brianna.
Eventually, the family settles in Ocracoke, bidding farewell to their loved ones who remain in the past. Jaime promises Claire that he will continue for her sake. They arrive safely in the future, but Claire feels a profound sense of loss for the family they left behind.
Weeks later, Claire is visited by Wendigo, who attempted to time travel but blacks out and returns to the same location. He demands another gemstone, and when Claire refuses, his accomplices hold Jaime at gunpoint. In the chaos, the house explodes.
