Outlander Season 7 debut kicked off with lots of drama and excitement as we saw what happened after Claire Fraser was arrested and charged with killing Malva Christie. In this episode, we will see how Jamie MacKenzie Fraser is going to rescue Claire when he lands in Wilmington. He’ll do everything he can to prevent Claire’s execution.
But there’s a caveat because Jamie is also in a bit of a pickle because Governor Martin requests his presence, loyalty, and obedience. So Jamie will have to traverse dangerous roads and put his neck on the line to see if he can save Claire. In any case, we’re going to expand on this further down the line; beware, though, because there are spoilers, and we don’t want to ruin all the fun for you.
Outlander Season 7 Episode 1 Recap
In this episode, Claire is found guilty of killing Malva Christie, but Jamie stays in town after learning that Brianna is expecting a baby and takes a job as a prison guard. Sadie, Claire’s cellmate, confesses to a different crime while they are both in jail. Because of the unrest in the streets, the courts are closed, which makes Claire fear that she may spend a long time behind bars.
Wendigo Donner, who says he didn’t hurt Claire and was attempting to travel through time, is encountered by Roger in the meantime. To give Claire a chance to escape, healer Tate pays a visit to the facility. When Jamie and Ian get to the prison, they find that Mr. Christie has taken Claire on the wife’s instructions. Mrs. Martin’s pregnancy is being cared for by Claire while she is on a ship. While Jamie deals with the rebels and Major McDonald, Brianna tries to talk Roger out of helping Wendigo escape.
As Claire’s condition gets better, she asks for more supplies. Tension results from Martin’s refusal to let her leave the ship. After learning of Claire’s arrest from McDonald, Jamie sets out to round up 200 men to help get her released.
Jamie gives Ian the go-ahead to head back home while Roger decides to pray for Wendigo. Tom intends to admit to killing his daughter Malva and blames it on the fact that she is a witch.
Tom introduces himself to Claire and shares a convoluted tale involving his wife and brother. Despite the fact that Tom has already written a confession, Claire doesn’t think he killed Malva.
Declaring his love for Claire, he intends to publish it in order to set Claire free. Following Claire and Jamie’s reunion, they both believe Richard Brown to be the real murderer. Richard is confronted by Jamie, and a physical altercation follows. As the episode comes to a close, Jamie assaults Richard.
