Fans widely love drama adapted from manga. This summer, fans of drama, especially BL drama lovers, are gifted with a beautiful Japanese BL drama, “Our Dining Table,” originally named in Japanese “Bokura no Shokutaku”. The drama was adapted from the manga series of the same name, “Bokura no Shokutaku,” by Mita Ori. The manga follows the story of BL lovers who get connected by a child, and eventually, their life takes a turn to happiness.
“Our Dining Table” is directed by three directors Kashou Lizuka, Yuho Ishibashi, and Naho Kamimura. At the same time, the series is produced by Tomomi Kanda and Yumi Kubota. The screenplay and script are written by Shimo Ayumi and adapted from the manga. The story of the drama follows a professional salary man Yukata who is also a talented cook traumatized by his past, living his life with the same routine daily.
On the other hand, we have Minoru, who is living his life trying to take care of his younger brother Kane after their mother passed away. Both of these persons will be connected by Minoru’s younger brother Kane, which brings positivity to both of their lives.
For the main cast of the drama, we have Inukai Atsuriho portraying the role of Hozumi Yukata, who is a working professional and talented chef too. Whereas for the other main lead, we have Iijima Hiroki portraying the role of Ueda Minoru, a boy without a mother taking the best care of his younger brother and supporting his father.
For other supporting roles, the casts are Maeyama Kuuga plays the role of Ueda Tane, the younger brother of Minoru. Harada Ryuji is the character of Ueda Koji, Furuhata Seika is Ohata Rei, whereas Tamada Shiroi is the character of Nao, who is interested in Minoru.

Our Dining Table Episode 6: Recap
The drama begins with Yukata and Minoru meeting accidentally with the help of Kane. The drama further shows the development of the relationship between both. The 6th episode of Our Dining Table premiered on 11th May 2023 and started with the beginning of Christmas Carols.
As Christmas is near, the whole town is decorated with Christmas trees and decorations. On seeing a Christmas Tree, Yukata reminisces his childhood memory of Christmas. In his childhood, he never got to enjoy Christmas Day as he was never welcomed warmly by his adoptive parents and always used to get bullied by his stepbrother.
Next, we see Minoru, while working part-time in a ramen shop, getting carried away by the dialogue of his boss “You should spend the important day with an important person.” He decides to invite Yukata on Christmas Day to spend time together. Later after dinner, when Yukata was about to leave Minoru’s home, he was stopped by Minoru. Minoru hesitatingly tries to invite Yukata on Christmas; meanwhile, Kane comes with a hand-drawn Christmas party card and invites Yukata.
Meanwhile, Yukata works overtime in the office to complete all his work before Christmas and spend Christmas with Kane and Minoru. But on Christmas Day morning, he fells down with a high fever. He calls Minoru to inform him of not participating in Christmas Party but due to a fever, and he couldn’t complete his sentences on call. Minoru starts to feel tense about him and rushes to Yukata’s home.
Minoru reaches Yukata’s place and feels relieved to see him safe. He makes udon for Yukata and gives him medicines and all. While eating, Minoru tells about his mother’s story to Yukata and, at last, assures Yukata that he is always here to hear his story too. Yukata falls asleep, leaning on Minoru’s shoulder. While leaving Yukata’s place, he places a gift for Yukata on a table, and he also founds that both his and Yukata’s gifts for each other are the same, which is a pretty woolen scarf.
Our Dining Table Episode 7: Spoilers
In Our Dining Table Episode 7, fans will finally get to see little progress in Yukata and Minoru’s relationship. Yukata will finally open up his true feeling to Minoru. He also tells Minoru the story of his life. Yukata opens up about how he was always afraid of socializing and was traumatized because of his bad childhood memories.
Meanwhile, Minoru also feels blessed to have met a person like Yukata, who always cheers him up while taking care of his younger brother Kane. So, to sum up, in Episode 7, we will get to know the whole childhood story of Yukata. We will also encounter some cute interactions between both main leads with serious talks of their life.

Our Dining Table is a TBS Japanese Drama with a total of 10 episodes. Each episode is released weekly, i.e., Thursday every week. The first episode aired on April 2023, and on 8 June 2023, the drama will conclude by releasing the final episode.
