It is not hard to believe but the Only Murders season 2 episode 10 has finally revealed the killer of Bunny Folger, an elderly retired woman living in The Arconia. And, it is Poppy. Yes, the shy, meek girl whom we always thought was abused by Cinda Canning, her boss, and lead podcast runner. Till now, all the evidence was pointed out by Detective Kreps and Conda Canning. The last episode forced us to believe that the two of them might be having an affair.
Although, that is not the case. The real person Detective Kreps was having an affair with was Poppy. Turns out, that she was so exhausted from her life, and never getting enough appreciation for Cinda or a higher salary, was what drove her to kill Bunny in the first place. She wanted to be the one doing the podcast on this new murder mystery and solve it by pinning it on Mabel.
Although, her plans washed out because the idea was never ready to give her a chance, a chance that she deserved. She teamed up with Kreps and the two murdered Bunny and then escaped through the secret passageways inside The Arconia. As of right now, the two of them are locked away and the building is safe again. Cinda is absolutely free and she too finished her podcast about Bunny’s murders along with the trio. Although, the ending of the episode had a huge twist for all of us and we shall explain the same to you guys.
How Did Poppy Confess To The Murder?
While Mabel, Charles, and Oliver were trying to frame Cinda (what they told Poppy), she trusted the process and came along to Bunny’s apartment for the Killer Reveal Party. The trio starts ganging up on Cinda and starts to blame her for the murder. She was eventually starting to break down, in what looked like an intense reveal session. Heck, the trio even cut a tomato and walked in slow motions just to make her uncomfortable and bring her to guard down.
When she was ultimately about to do so, Mabel bailed out. She then pinned the whole murder onto Alice. She described the motive and the art of killing that only Alice could have. The two argued a bit and while Alice picked up a knife to stab Mabel in the gut, Charles came along in the middle and got stabbed instead. We saw him losing a lot of blood and dying. The 911 was called and Alice was taped to the chair by the rest of the residents. It was a showdown as the killer was finally caught.
Only Murder in the Building Season 2 Episode 10 Ending Explained
Cinda and Mabel and Oliver sat on a couch while Poppy was going over through the recording gear. She hears Cinda say to Mabel how she is even ready to cast her on the team and even give her a solo podcast. This infuriated Poppy and she comes forward, angry and infuriated with her, and starts screaming. Mabel eventually manages to pin down the whole murder upon her as she was sneezing continuously in the presence of a bird, just like the killer was when they killed Bunny and Lucy head them in the passageway. Poppy breaks down and confesses to having killed Bunny just because she wanted appreciation from Cinda. The police arrive and take Poppy away.
By the end of the episode, we see that it has been a year since the incident and Mabel is very happy. She is attending a Broadway show directed by Oliver. Although, here we see Ben dying on stage which means a potential season 3 of Only Murders in the Building.
