June has been an exciting month for One Piece fans. It began with Eiichiro Oda’s blockbuster Chapter 1186, followed by a new update on One Piece: Heroines and fresh news about The One Piece remake. As if that wasn’t enough, Netflix has now shared a new update on the highly anticipated One Piece Live-Action Season 3.

The update comes as excitement continues to build for the Alabasta Arc, which will introduce Joe Manganiello as the Warlord of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, when the new season premieres in 2027.
Filming Has Wrapped, but the Adventure Continues
In a post shared on its official X account, the One Piece Netflix team marked the milestone with a tone fans of the franchise will recognize: playful, cryptic, and packed with anticipation.
The cameras have stopped rolling, but the journey is far from over. ONE PIECE Season 3 has officially wrapped production,
the show’s official account wrote, adding a teasing aside about a mysterious wall visible in an accompanying cast photo.
The image shows the Straw Hat Pirates standing in front of an unidentified piece of artwork. While Netflix didn’t reveal its significance, many fans have already begun speculating that it could contain hidden clues about the Alabasta Arc or even future storylines.
What to Expect From One Piece Live-Action Season 3
Following a second season that introduced fan-favorite characters like Nico Robin, Tony Tony Chopper, Mr. 3, and Smoker, One Piece Live-Action Season 3 is expected to be the series biggest season yet. The story will adapt the iconic Alabasta Arc, where Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates face Sir Crocodile and the criminal organization Baroque Works. Joe Manganiello’s casting as Crocodile was revealed during the Season 2 finale, setting up the villain’s highly anticipated live-action debut.
A Bright Future for the One Piece Live-Action Series
Although Netflix has not officially renewed One Piece for Season 4, the show’s producers have spoken openly about their long-term plans for the live-action series. Executive producers Becky Clements and Joe Tracz have previously said they are planning for eight to ten seasons to adapt Eiichiro Oda’s story. Clements even said she would ideally like to see the series run for up to 16 seasons to cover the entire adventure.
If the adaptation continues beyond the Alabasta Arc, the next major storyline would likely be the Skypiea Arc, where the Straw Hat Pirates travel to the sky island aboard the Going Merry and face the powerful Enel. The cast has also revealed that Eiichiro Oda shared the manga’s ending with them, giving the creative team a long-term roadmap even as the original manga enters its final saga.
What This Means for One Piece Fans
With filming now complete, the focus shifts to post-production, marketing, and Netflix’s official announcement of the release date, which is expected in 2027. For now, the streaming platform continues to adapt Eiichiro Oda’s story one major arc at a time, a strategy that aims to stay faithful to the original manga while laying the foundation for a long-running live-action series.
