Netflix Spring Lineup 2026

Netflix has officially revealed its latest anime lineup during AnimeJapan 2026, outlining a broad mix of returning hits, new adaptations, and original productions set to roll out across Spring 2026 and beyond. The announcement reinforces the platform’s aggressive push into anime, a category that now reaches more than half of its global subscribers.

The streamer continues to position itself as a global anime hub, offering content in over 30 languages with accessibility features such as audio descriptions. This strategy reflects the growing international demand for anime and Netflix’s long-term investment in Japanese storytelling and production partnerships.

At the center of the Spring rollout are major returning titles and highly anticipated arcs, alongside newly announced projects that were previewed with fresh visuals and trailers during the event.

Spring 2026 Anime Releases (US Dates)

The Spring slate begins in early April and continues into May, featuring a steady cadence of weekly releases:

  • Dorohedoro Season 2 — April 1
  • The Ramparts of Ice — April 2 (Previously announced)
  • SPY x FAMILY Season 3 — April 4
  • ONE PIECE (Elbaph Arc) — April 11
  • Blue Lock Season 1 — April 25
  • My Dress-Up Darling Season 1 — April 25

May continues the rollout with several major additions:

  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 — May 1
  • Assassination Classroom Season 1 — May 1
  • Shangri-La Frontier Season 1 — May 1
  • Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom — May 10
  • Akane Banashi — Coming in May

This lineup reflects a balance between established franchises and newer entries, ensuring consistent engagement throughout the season.

New Announcements and Future Releases

Beyond the Spring schedule, Netflix also used AnimeJapan 2026 to spotlight upcoming projects that will extend into the rest of the year and beyond.

Among the most discussed titles is STEEL BALL RUN JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, which continues to generate attention following its debut. While additional episodes are confirmed, the release timing remains broadly set for 2026 without a specific date, reflecting ongoing production uncertainties.

Netflix also highlighted new and upcoming anime productions such as BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai and Dandelion, alongside fresh projects like Sparks of Tomorrow, a Kyoto Animation series expected later in 2026.

These additions align with Netflix’s broader strategy of producing original anime while continuing to license high-performing franchises.

Strategic Push in Anime Continues

The AnimeJapan 2026 showcase highlights Netflix’s ongoing effort to dominate the global anime streaming space. With a mix of simulcast-style releases, catalog expansions, and original productions, the company is building a year-round content pipeline rather than relying on seasonal drops alone.

The platform’s partnerships with major studios and its investment in localization have played a key role in anime’s rapid growth on the service. As demand continues to rise internationally, Netflix appears focused on scaling both volume and variety.

With a packed Spring schedule and multiple high-profile projects lined up for later in 2026, Netflix’s anime strategy shows no signs of slowing.
