NBA 2K27 will offer smoother gameplay on Nintendo Switch 2, with 2K confirming that the basketball title can run at 60 FPS in Performance Mode. The news marks a significant improvement over NBA 2K26, which was limited to 30 FPS on Nintendo’s newer console.

According to a statement shared by the official NBA 2K account,

“NBA 2K27 runs at 60 FPS on Switch 2, in Performance Mode.”

The publisher added that players can expect the same smooth and responsive experience whether playing docked or in handheld mode.

The addition of a Performance Mode should provide a noticeable boost to the speed and responsiveness of gameplay, particularly during fast-paced basketball action. 2K has not confirmed the specifications of any alternative graphics mode, so details about resolution or visual-focused settings remain unclear.

NBA 2K27 launches on September 4, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2 and other platforms. The official Nintendo Store also confirms that the game will support TV, tabletop, and handheld modes.
