My Lovely Liar Episode 14 Recap
In the previous episode, we see Jo Jae-Chan turning himself in to the police and confessing that he was the one who murdered Eom-Ji. Jae-Chan reveals that the ring found alongside Eom-Ji’s body was his and not Do-Ha’s ring.
It turns out that Jae-Chan has a one-sided love for Eom-Ji, so he duplicates the same couple’s ring with the thought that if he also wears a similar one, he will feel that he is Eom-Ji’s boyfriend instead.
Now that the culprit has surrendered to the police, Sol-Hee can be relieved. Sol-Hee invites Do-Ha to celebrate with their neighborhood friends.
Do-Ha feels emotional to see the people that he likes being happy about him successfully proving his innocence. Far from his cold image, Do-Ha suddenly burst into tears, hinting that he is now comfortable with being vulnerable and expressing his inner emotions.
However, Do-Ha seems to still be suspicious about the result of the case. Something is wrong, he thinks. Sol-Hee, being the caring girlfriend that she is, helps Do-Ha figure out why he is feeling that way.
At that moment, Kang-Min arrives at another clue that may put a close to the murder case once and for all. Kang-Min asks for Sol-Hee’s help, and the two confirm that the real culprit is Jo Deuk-Chan.
On the other hand, Deuk-Chan returns to his office to fetch the evidence he has long hidden in his safe. But Sol-Hee beats him to it. Deuk-Chan confesses that he likes Do-Ha more than a friend, which led him to kill Eom-Ji, and that he was supposed to surrender but waited for the right moment.
When Do-Ha hears about this confession, Deuk-Chan feels anxious that he will run away. With the police on his tail, Deuk-Chan was left with no choice but to drive himself to his end.
