My Favorite Wedding Filming Locations
Famous romantic comedy movies always involve beautiful locations or portray even the most mundane locations in a way that may seem magical. Locations do play an important factor in setting the scene for romance in movies. Films like When Harry Met Sally include beautiful locations like Central Park, New York in the fall, and the Metropolitan Museum of art. Montauk, New York, Chinatown, Manhattan in the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Danforth Avenue, Toronto in My Big Fat Greek Wedding are some amazing examples of how locations have an everlasting impact on the film as well as the audience.
My Favorite Wedding was shot in just 19 days, and to pick a place that creates an everlasting impact on the movie and the audience was a huge task. But the filming location selected could not have been done any better than the place that was selected. The movie was primarily shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The scenes included the landscape views of the city during the day and night and the bay area with all the boats and were also shot at a very famous location called the Maple Ridge Florist, which included some heart-to-heart conversations between the characters and cute little cafes where Tess and Michael (Maggie and Paul) met and had conversations that led to them falling for each other.
The Plot Of My Favorite Wedding
In My Favorite Wedding, Tess Harper plays a workaholic doctor who also has the tendency to over-exert herself in trying to be there for others at the expense of her own limited energy. Tess plays the character of a good, decent person for her boyfriend of two years, Dex Richmond, and her best friend since childhood, Amber Tilton, whose wedding Tess attends in the movie. Tess has her own plans to earn a Fellowship at Northwestern University, with a member of the selection committee attending the same wedding as well, and also try to make her boyfriend shift to Chicago with her and ask him to marry her.
But the movie takes a turn when Dex bails on Tess last minute for the wedding, leaving Tess alone and sad at the wedding. Tess immediately meets the best man at the wedding, Michael, who is a divorce attorney. The banter between Tess and Michael about love, marriage, and relationships starts as Tess believes in love and romance, but Michael is skeptical of all those feelings. Everything is laid down for both of them to discover what they want in the future for their personal lives and realize that not everything at a wedding is an accident.
